Caution is for other men
Who: Newt Scamander, You
Where: Outside
When: All three days
Rating: PG for injury
Summary: Much of it is just Newt enjoying the snow. Except the end of the second day when he manages to take a tumble skiing and breaks his leg. DEFINITELY open for a doctor or medical types for that.
The Story:
Day One
The first day, with all the snow and the changes, Newt can't help but to enjoy himself. Andy the pyjak wants nothing to do with the snow, hiding out inside, but Newt has thrown himself into it all wholeheartedly.
Snowball fights. Building snow creatures that look nothing like the creatures out of the muggle world. Enjoying hot chocolate while staring out at the views and resting from all he's been doing. Join him. Have fun. Make him a target. He's loving it all.
Day Two
Most of day two was like the first. Newt was just enjoying it all. Which is what led him to trying out skiing. He's been watching others do it, he's worn snow shoes before and it can't be all that hard. He's seen so many trying it.
The first run goes well for him in fact. Well enough that he fairly well rushes back up the mountain to go again. Which was his mistake. Well enough should have been good enough. About half way down the run he lost his balance. Toppling head over heels, the snow flying up around him. He felt the flash of pain even as his ski twisted to one side before flying off.
Coming to a stop, Newt realizes two things. One, that was almost fun. Two, as he tries to get on his feet he realizes quickly that he isn't capable of putting weight on his left leg.

"Hm... I wouldn't reccomend it. The closets sometimes like to play tricks on us."
no subject
"Could you explain about that? So many just recommend the closets. What kind of tricks? I've asked for one creature and received it."
no subject
"Well, there was one incident where a young girl at the mansion wished for a rabbit or two in memory of someone who died and never revived. Possibly one of those who managed to die five times..."
He trails off for a second, trying not to think of death at a time like this.
"... Anyway, the population quickly got out of hand and soon she was forced to do something with an entire mob of domesticated rabbits."
"At least I got a pet out of it," he concluded with a smirk.
no subject
"The closet just kept... I mean, was that breeding issues or just the closet releasing one rabbit after another?"
no subject
"I'm not sure, but they were a lot of them when I stopped by."
no subject
"Thank you for the warning. I'll certainly be careful in choosing what to ask the closet for. Especially when it comes to living beings."
no subject
Well, he is really his roommate for the time being.
"Are you planning to come back inside in a few moments? I could have some hot chocolate prepared for you when you return to the lodge."
no subject
And he wasn't sure he'd ever stop enjoying it all.
"I probably should. If only to get feeling back in my hands," he said with a laugh. "You would do that? That's too kind of you, but I would love it."
