SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW - JAN 19

[ A faint sound of engine slowly grows louder as a full-modded motorcycle comes closer. A teenager, seemingly of high school or early college age, stops in front of Mondo (and possibly you). You might be able to see some resemblance between him and Mondo in his eyes, though they seem completely different with the calm air and charisma he's bringing to the picture. Cladded in white coat and white baggy pants, he stands proudly beside his motorcycle, smiling amiably. ]

Yo!

A... Aniki...

[ Mondo's voice cracks pathetically, almost a whisper. ]

What kinda face 're you makin' there? We finally meet again, huh, Mondo? Did ya miss me?

[ He looks visibly shaken, both in disbelief and overflowing emotions. His shoulders are shaking, his frown deepening. Somewhere within, he knows this might be-- must be an illusion or a fake one like the Fujisaki he saw back in the tower event. This timing is too uncanny. But a big part of him wants to believe that his brother is here. That Wonderland has brought his brother back alive. He wants to believe so, so badly. ]

. . .

[ Please, just for once, let this be true. Just for once, he wants to talk to his brother again.

When he nods, it's almost like there's a burst of colours splashing behind the brother as his smile grows even wider. He reaches out and messes with Mondo's hair. ]

Ooh? What's this, you're being unusually honest, aren't you? Oniichan's real happy!

Cut it out. [ Mondo smacks his brother's arm away, but he's not denying it. Even if he were to deny it, the watery look in his eyes would just betray it right away. ] When did you get here?

I just got here! 's a real rad place, ain't it? [ The brother then lands his eyes on you, and offers you a smile. ] Mondo's friend? Hello! I'm Daiya! Nice to meet you!

[ You might've been here all along, or you just got here, but Daiya finally addresses you. You can choose to try to shake Mondo off his fantasy, or join him in this fantasy. Either way, he will eventually realise that this is nothing but yet another lie. ]

WHEN THE STORM STARTS

[ So, according to Dipper, the most efficient way to kill the zombies is by singing. He has zero idea what three part harmony is, but he sure as hell 's gonna try something. Grabbing the mic near the karaoke machine, he begins yelling to the mic in both frustration and intensity at the approaching zombies. This goddamn event better ends soon!!

Come and help him, or probably tell him that what he's doing is pointless... or whatever you want! ]

[Oh look, more pompadours. Kokichi was just passing by, but now he's interested.]

[When Daiya notices him, Kokichi just beams at him like the innocent young man he is not.]

Yep! I'm one of his best friends in this place! Kokichi Oma!

[Kokichi, Mondo doesn't even like you.]

[ Oh, it's alright, don't mind him, he's just gonna roll his eyes out of his socket. ]

Don't listen to him, I dunno who the fuck that guy is.

[ Daiya doesn't seem to pick up on Mondo's tone, visibly gleeful to hear what Kokichi says. ]

I was just joking but he really 's got a friend here? Haha! Aren't you doing good?

[ With every (light) smack Daiya gives to his back, Mondo can feel his agitation building up. But it never reaches too high, because the fact that Daiya's here is a lot more important this moment, and easily simmers it down. ]

Are you even listenin' to me? I said he's not.

[ Still, Mondo's a honest person when it comes to things or people he doesn't like. He's gonna say it outright. ]

Sorry 'bout him, Kokichi-kun. He's a lil' shy.

[ He's not in the mood to argue further, for now anyway, so he just grunts in annoyance, crossing his arms as he glares down at Kokichi. ]

Whaddya want here? Get lost.

That's kinda mean, ya know! I only wanted to say hi to your friend here!

[Kokichi smiles ever so gently as if he has done nothing wrong. No real danger when there's a much friendlier biker person here to believe his lies.]

And it's okay. He's like that with almost everyone.

[ Shoo shoo. You're not welcome here, creepy dude. ]

Stop that! [ And that's a bonk to Mondo's head as Daiya continues talking to Kokichi. ] For real? That's no good, Mondo... You should treat your allies nicely. You're a head now, aren't 'cha?

[ Have some aniki disapproving head shake. At that, Mondo's momentarily silent.

When he does open his mouth though, he's immediately directing it to the other boy instead. ]

I only treat freaky shitheads like you like that!! Go find somethin' else better to do, we don't have time for ya! [ He then pulls his brother's sleeve roughly. ] C'mon Aniki, ignore him, let's get goin'. [ It's also when he notices that his brother's still wearing the tokkoufuku he worn during their last race. He bites his lip and turns away from looking at it, attempting to drag Daiya with him as he walks off. ]

[Kokichi defiantly sticks out his tongue. A small blep in the face of danger.]

[He's not gonna follow Mondo around. Even with the nicer guy around, the guy still seems like trouble. Still, he will deliberately muse about this out loud, so the two of them can hear him.]

Aw man... I thought I could hang out with Oowada-chan today. If only he was more like his brother...

[ Ugh, this urge to punch Kokichi in the face... Mondo tries his best to hold it in, though the loud huff of sigh is a huge indicator of the waves in his emotions. ]

Why d'ya always have to be so rough? I wanna hear more about how 's been like for you here. Plus, you gotta show me around! Isn't it better to have two guides instead of one?

[ With his free hand, Daiya makes a gesture that pretty much says 'come along' to Kokichi, smiling ever so amiably. ]

Don't mind him, Kokichi-kun, you're totally welcome to come along with us.

Aniki...!

[ Mondo's protests are totally ignored, as Daiya is set on waiting for Kokichi to join them. ]

[Kokichi skips right on up to Daiya's side with a huge grin on his face.]

I knew at least one of you has a kind heart! Thanks for letting me join you!

[Mondo, that annoying brat is playing nice for your older bro. Whatcha gonna do?]

[ Daiya smiles when Kokichi falls into step with them, resuming the walk on the road with neon lights around them, their surroundings slowly turning into a night street of one particular district in Japan. This visibly unsettles Mondo quite a bit because of a particular past event, but he does his best to keep his cool. ]

So, how's it been for you so far, Kokichi-kun? I can tell this ain't the Earth, at least.

[ Much to his dismay, Mondo can't exactly intrude his brother ー it's just how it is, the vertical relationship culture in biker gangs (as how it is in other kinds of male-dominated organisations). Daiya has never particularly pressed it on him, but it's just something he does consciously. Unless Kokichi pulls some weird crap, he'll try to control himself, just glaring daggers in the meantime. ]

[Kokichi gazes at the changing scenery with eyes full of wonder. Occasionally, he'll regard Mondo with a smirk, checking the guy's reaction, before returning his attention to the guy's brother.]

Nope! Far from it! And this place is nothing, you should have seen the giant gingerbread house we had last month.

[ Daiya seems pleasantly surprised, brows rising in sheer interest. ]

Gingerbread house? What, you guys can eat it?

[ He turns to Mondo, grinning mischievously. ]

Did you eat it?

'Course I didn't, the hell're you sayin'?!

[ A chuckle slips out of Daiya as he smacks Mondo's back, before facing Kokichi again. ]

Tell me 'bout all the other things too! Anythin' I should keep in mind?

[ It's pretty peaceful so far, Mondo's gonna reel in this moment while he looks around for potential danger. The events always seem to have horrible things in store for them, after all. He doesn't believe that he can have something so good like this. It's almost... too good to be true.

Y'know? ]

Could. We were able to eat it at one point. But then it's a whole regenerating manor, so nobody could eat the whole thing before it went back to normal.

[Kokichi glances at Mondo again. Heh, poor guy ain't so tough anymore...]

Oh, right. You're new here. Just gotta remember a few things while you're staying here. Like beware the mirror versions of ourselves that live on the other side of the mirrors. It sounds crazy now, but trust me on this.

Heeh, that sounds nice... I wish I arrived earlier!

[ Mondo sighs at the laid back manner his brother's displaying. Shouldn't he feel more... you know. Unsure? He knows Daiya's got a strong confidence in himself, and probably has better survival (ha ha) instincts than Mondo does, but having some sense for danger is important too. This is a land that he's never ever been at before. ]

Mirrors of ourselves? What're they like?

[ At the mention about the mirror, Mondo grimaces. It reminds him of what happened back in December. ]

...You've seen yours?

They're called "mirrors" for a reason. So... What do you think they're like?

[Kokichi glances over at Mondo, raising an eyebrow. To be truthful, he's only seen his elusive mirror in glimpses during the gingerbread Christmas...]

[But how often is Kokichi truthful?]

Yes, Oowada-chan. We did happen to cross paths a month ago. I gotta admit, it was a pretty weird experience.

[ Mondo catches the sarcasm, cutting in. ]

Oi! Don't be rude to Aniki!!

[ But Daiya stops Mondo from going any closer to Kokichi, throwing the smaller boy a smile. It's by no means intimidating, but it's rather... ominous. ]

I see, an opposite to us, huh? By 'beware' do you mean they're potentially dangerous? They're a part of you, right?

[ Mondo keeps quiet, but he glances every now and then, anticipating Kokichi's answers. ]
