Food and Fun - OPEN Gathering!

Summary: Liv and Papyrus host Wonderland's Inagural Inter-planetary Fod Festival!
The Story:



The stage has been set for everyone to have food from all over time and space, and Liv is possibly a little more excited about this than she should be. Her message with Papyrus didn't seem to drum up a ton of interest when they made their announcement, but she's hoping like hell this actually goes somewhere.

There's a table with Sharpie pens and little cards to write the name of the dish, main ingredients, and where it came from (plus the bringer's dish if they want) and three huge coolers filled with ice and various drinks like bottled water, juice boxes, soda, and beer for the adults (that one's labeled on top). Cutlury, napkins, and cups are taken care of! There's also music playing, the equivalent to what might as well be a random Pandora station not set on one specific genre of music. It easily goes from an Adele song to the Spice Girls and back around to something by Adam Lavine.

All that's really left, is for Liv to sit back and enjoy the day.

[Mikan's rather glad for this get-together. It's an excellent band-aid for all the pain she's been suffering since Mondo's vanishing act. Encouraged by Papyrus, she's decided to bring what a famous dish from her homeland - sushi!

But, overthinking but well-meaning paranoid loon she is, she's brought along many, many, MANY different plates of sushi. Crab, eel, tuna, vegetables, and of course dipping soy sauce and wasabi.

She might have gone a little overboard.

There's also a small basket of epi-pens to the side in case anyone has an allergic reaction to anything.]

[Armin has been wandering around the little food festival, curiously checking out the various cuisines on offer. He hasn't been eaten much of it though. He may have been here for a few weeks now, but he quickly learned that after a lifetime of eating rather bland food back home, much of the food here is a bit too rich for his tastes. And far too sugary. He tried a tiny bit of one of Ryuji's soda's once and he had nearly spat it out. And according to Jean, that had been one of the more bland sodas in Ryuji's stomach-killing arsenal.

But even if he hasn't been eating much of it, he's definitely been peering around curiously. There are some things that are similar to what they have at home --just a better quality-- but some other things are completely alien to him. Like the sushi. He glances at it curiously, then up at the girl standing near to the plates.]

Uhm, excuse me, but are you the one who brought this?

Y-Yes!

[oh wow, someone actually came over!!! She's a little surprised.]

Please, t-take whatever you want, as much as you want! I, um... I'm from Japan, and all over the world, we're famous for our sushi... It's a dish with fish and rice, but i-it can be made so many different ways!

[Well, her dish does stand out a lot compared to some of the other dishes here. If nothing else, it helps to catch the eye.]

Really? I'm not sure what rice is [Well, presumably the white stuff, but Armin couldn't even make a guess as to where it comes from. Is it a plant? Something from a tree? We just don't know.] but are all of these fish?

[not... sure... what... rice is.

She kind of Blue Screens there for a moment, trying to process that. But she shakes her head, manages to get back into reality.]

W-well, some of them are other animals that live under the sea, like eel and crab.

[They live in the land of meat and potatoes. Well, mostly potatoes. Not much meat.

Actually, not that many potatoes either.

The mention of sea food has Armin's interest growing even further. So this is the sort of food you can make with animals from the sea?]

Do you eat a lot of food from the sea where you are from? And, if you don't mind me asking, what is an 'eel'?

Y-Yes... Japan is an island, so there's always plenty of seafood to go around.

And eel... It's, um... well, do you know what a snake is? It's kind of like that.

[Armin does, in fact, know what a snake is. They aren't very common within the walls, but a few (mostly harmless) species exist.]

There is really animals like that in the ocean?

Y-Yes, at least in my world... There are all kinds. But some fish is more expensive than others, because it's harder to find and there are less in the world...
