+ Your Princess Is in another...Palace +
Who: Everyone!
Where: All over Wonderland
When: Friday, 8/24 - Monday, 8/27
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Palaces! This log is for Palace Rulers to post descriptions of their palaces, and for unaffected characters to wander in and out of them.
The Story:
Palace rulers: These are the characters who experience the bout of lightheadedness and spontaneously manifest a Palace starting at noon on 8/24. As soon as the palace forms, the character is essentially sucked into their Palace and made to play the part of the ruler.
These characters will forget they were ever in Wonderland or indeed had any other life outside of their Palace. If Character A's Palace took the form of her living her dream as a world-famous surfer where the oceans are made of cotton candy, she would always believe she'd been a surfer and that oceans have always been made of cotton candy. Any characters who entered her Palace would merely seem like visitors or intruders to the beach. Maybe they're surf fans, too?
It is possible to "wake" a Person from their Palace if one were to kill them (easy mode... if a bit violent) or make them see it's merely a mental construct (hard mode). If a person were to die inside their Palace, however, it would count as a mansion death. There are no real ways to "unmake" these Palaces other than to snap the person out of it or wait for them to run their course.
Palaces are tied to locations that characters frequent or find special meaning in. They do not outwardly change the appearance of the mansion--the clinic will still look like the clinic on the outside, but crossing inside takes you into the mental landscape of that affected character, and it may look however that player chooses it to.
Unaffected characters: Congratulations, you get to explore other characters’ inner world by visiting their Palaces! There is also a chance of danger should a character enter into a Palace whose ruler is likely to see them as a threat. Should Character A as described above not want a person there, sharks on legs might rise from the ocean and attempt to chase them off. (Sorry about that.)
However, there will always be a way to escape a Palace should you need to. There will always be a door leading back to the normal mansion, though no one else in the Palace will be able to see it aside from the unaffected character. If you entered the clinic and it's a barren hellscape, the clinic door will take you back out. Yay!
It is also possible for characters to see cognitive clones of themselves inside someone else's Palace if that person has a mental image of them. How these cognitive versions behave is, however, entirely up to the Palace ruler, whether realistic or not.
See the Bulletin Board for details on the event. You can also go to the plotting post to see what everyone else is doing!

Wynonna Earp's Party Palace | Damon's Bar (Floor 4, Room 5)
Perched on the counter is one Wynonna Earp, and she is the woman of the hour. She has a giant sash on that says "Purgatory's Favorite Heir" and she even has a tiara on her head. Mounted behind her is a too big version of her beloved gun, Peacemaker. She doesn't need it anymore and it serves as a trophy for what she's accomplished.
It seems too good to be true, mostly because it is. For starters, at least one of the party goers, Willa, should be dead back home. But she isn't here, and she'll gratefully tell anyone how much she admires her little sister for stepping up as the heir when it should have been her duty.
Speaking of sisters, at all times one Waverly can be found glued to her sister's side. It is clear that she is the most treasured, precious thing to Wynonna and if anything even seems like a threat to Waverly, it'll turn the whole bar against someone pretty quickly.
Willa isn't the only person who is dead and shouldn't be there, however. Remember that sign we mentioned before? Well Wyatt is there, if you want to drink with him. He'll tell anyone about how he regrets getting his family cursed, how wonderful Wynonna is for succeeding where he could not, how proud he is of his great-great granddaughter. One might also catch him hugging his best friend, Doc Holliday, a figure many people in Wonderland might recognize.
There are other noticible figures such as Wynonna's boss, Xavier Dolls or Waverly's girlfriend, Nicole Haught. They all seem so proud and happy for Wynonna. Also, everyone is drinking whiskey. Everyone. If you try to order something else you will still get whiskey. Also there are what are essentially giant, sentient whiskey bottles walking around refilling everyone's drink. Because the rule of the palace is you have to keep drinking and you have to keep partying. Don't ask questions.
No seriously, don't. If you ask too many questions, if you begin to reveal to anyone, but especially Wynonna, that there's something fishy about all this, and that it can't be this easy, the bar is going to begin to turn on you and it's not going to be pretty.
But you know, have fun and enjoy the party. It's fine. We're sure it's all totally fine.
[ooc: feel free to tag in with action-spam or prose, it was just easier for me to set everything up in prose but I can go either way]

She heads for Wynonna, since she seems to be the center of attention.]
Celebrating something? [It seems like a safe bet.]

Hell yeah, I am. They told me it couldn't be done, but I totally showed them.

[every other heir has failed -- and time and time again people underestimated her and assumed she would fail too. but she didn't. she won for once in her life.]

24th
When he feels that exact feeling entering the bar looking for one of its proprietors, it instantly cranks up the nature of his visit from idle social call to a "hey, did you notice that weird shit?" call.]
Hey, Wynonna, did you--
[Ryuji stops dead, hand half-raised with thumb pointing back toward the door, a confused furrow getting ready to settle over his brow. It's not just the bar's changed appearance and the suddenly, impossibly crowded confines that definitely hadn't been audible out in the hall, though that would certainly be enough to do the trick. It's the fact that his thumb's now clad in yellow, and more than just a perplexed look has settled on his face, if the weight of his Skull mask is any indication.
He looks down at himself--namely, at the phantom thief regalia that's appeared in place of his clothes.]
Holy shit.
[If it wasn't clear something funky was going on before, it is now.]

one of the giant bottles of whiskey, however, will be making it's way over to ryuji pressing a glass into his hand. come on buddy, it's time to drink. this is a celebration, after all.
and who wants to be the one to ruin a party?]
no subject
And the bar doesn't even look like the bar--the layout is different, as is the style (though with Wynonna in charge of things, the aesthetic has perhaps shifted a bit closer to what she's familiar with). And Wonderland definitely didn't have giant, sentient booze bottles (though, again, not impossible).
Uhhhh.]
What--? [Hey, bottle, what do you think you're doing?] What is this?
[As if he even needs to ask. The color and the smell of the liquid in the glass give the contents away. The legal drinking age may be twenty years old where he's from, but he's technically only one year away from it, and he hasn't lived under a rock. Plus, he's met Wynonna.
Still, this is not the sort of challenge he'd been expecting to face this time around. Speaking of Wynnona-- oh no. That can't be good, with or without the pageant tiara.]
Wynonna! [Holding the glass gingerly like it's a foreign object he's not sure how he ended up carrying, he tries to get to her, but there's a veritable mosh pit of partygoers and whiskey bottle servers between her and him. He tries to lift his hand to signal her--which happens to be the hand holding the glass, and which happens to look like he's merely lifting it in the air to toast her. Several people copy him.] Wynon--goddamn it, that's not what I meant, knock it off!
[Holy hell, how did this happen? He has a bad, bad feeling...
Attempting to find a hole in the crowd or other means to get closer to the queen heir on her throne, he turns just in time to nearly bump into Willa --though he doesn't know her as such--and slosh a few drops of whiskey at her feet. The last time he and Wynonna had done the cognitive song and dance together, he'd mostly seen Wynonna half-naked, not the cognitive forms of the people her Shadow had talked about.]
Oh, shit... Sorry.
no subject
the last time they did this cognitive nonsense ryuji had been exposed to some of wynonna's deepest fears and insecurities but this palace is more a representation of her deepest desires and how she wants to be viewed vs how she views herself. more than anything else, wynonna wants to do the impossible, and she wants to be recognized for her efforts. she wants to be liked and celebrated for once instead of being treated like a second hand citizen like she is at home.
willa's face contorts in annoyance at the sloshed beer at her feet.]
You should be more careful. [a pause and then:]
Are you a friend of 'Nonna's?
no subject
[With life-sized booze bottles, no less! Confusion lends a whining, frustrated edge to his words. Careful, Ryuji, you're starting to sound a bit like a party pooper...]
Wynonna? Yeah, I am. [He glances to the "Wynonna" on the bar top. He's close to a Wynonna, but he's not sure it's this one.] "Purgatory's Favorite Heir"... What the hell?
