( open ) there's no better time to start.
WHO: Tinker Bell and you.
WHEN: 6/30.
WHERE: The mansion.
RATING: PG??? I don't see things getting terribly out of hand.
SUMMARY: Tink shows up in Wonderland. Comes into contact with puppies. Potential cavities, or something.
[ she's familiar with the cliche of something changing in the blink of an eye, but she's never taken it literally. when she was in the blue fairy's employ, perhaps, things were different - but since then, things have been gradual. lingering. steady inclines and steep cliffs - but definite, definite changes that are visible in retrospect. nothing happens when she closes her eyes and opens them.
this, however, is very, very different, and very, very literal.
it's not the scenery that catches her first, though it's certainly not the room granny had been kind enough to give her. no, it's the lack of color. the color that isn't plastered around. the grays, the monochrome. she stands there in the middle of a step she doesn't recall making, and stares. ]
Where in the...
[ she turns, and nothing. there's a sinking feeling, cold running up her ankles and something else that she ignores as she turns back around, eying the door in front of her as if daring it to open itself.
it doesn't take long before she comes to the conclusion that it's not going to, and warily (so, so warily), she turns the knob, and lets herself in. ]
Hello? [ it's quiet. ] Look, I don't know where I am, and if this is some sort of magic trick that nobody - [ did i say it was quiet? because those are definite sounds of paws on the floor. tinker bell frowns, looking for the source of the sound. ] told me about...
[ definitely nobody told her about puppies. so many puppies. so excited to see her. they come running nobody saw all of them knock tink to the floor right? because that's totally not what happened.
no, it is. ]

Another day, she might have gone by and left this lady to figure things out on her own. But the presence of so many puppies over the last few days has left Abigail in an uncharacteristically good mood. So, rather than just brush by, she asks ]
Are you okay?

[ that's honestly all she can muster right now. she'd manage better if the puppies weren't climbing all over her. it'll take her a while to figure out how she went from storybrooke and curses to puppies. it doesn't exactly fit the tone of what's been going on, now does it?
she does manage to poke her head out, and her expression is anything but happy. anything but amused. it's a downright scowl. ]
Maybe I would be if anyone here were actually inclined to helping.

Come here. [ She says, holding out the handful of treats in offering, trying to draw the puppies away from the woman and towards her, instead. ]

I guess I should thank you.
[ and there's a smile, however hesitant. ]

[ She stays crouched where she is, the puppies bumping into each other and vying for position, eating out of her hand, all messy tongues and cold wet noses. Probably, she should take them outside and add them to the enclosure that Will built to help manage the whole canine situation, but she doesn't recognize this woman, and thinks it would be rude to just leave her ]
They took you by surprise?

Even in Neverland, it was never that bad.
no subject
[ Because yep, that happened. Abigail has the pet piglet to prove it. ]
Neverland? [ A small crease forms between Abigail's brows. ] As in, Peter Pan?
[ Is it possible there is more than one place like this - that pulls people in from all different worlds and is, inexplicably, named after an otherworldly realm from the greats of nineteenth century british children's fiction? The prospect of such a thing had never occurred to Abigail before, but it makes as much sense as anything around here .]

but then -
but then.
they got rid of him. he's gone, shadow and all, no longer taking hearts, finally failing. he's gone. ]
What do you know about him? About pan?
no subject
I'm familiar with his work.
[ No, but really, this lady looks way too intent upon the question, and something about the way she asked it just seems... off, so Abigail adds, less facetiously ]
Come on, who hasn't heard of Peter Pan?
no subject
[ no, no, it can't be. she knows he's a story in some places, nothing but a happy boy who never wanted to go up, crossing swords with pirates, frolicking with mermaids, and - most pointedly - being unafraid of death.
it makes her stomach turn. ]

I don't know. My mom read it to me when I was little. Never-never-land, Captain Hook, the Lost Boys, Tinkerbell and all of that.
[ Abigail's not doing anything to hide her suspicion and confusion. This is one of the weirder encounters she has had in this place, and that's saying something.]
no subject
Never-never-land? [ tink makes a face. ] I guess something got lost in translation.

[ Abigail is an intelligent girl, but the idea that the contents of Peter Pan might be real in some universe is such a foreign concept that it doesn't cross her mind. But she wants to understand, so she starts asking some questions of her own. ]
Is Neverland another place like this? Where people get pulled in and trapped, and the whole thing is inspired by a children's book?
