Bad Movie Night | OTA

Who: Billy Kaplan ([personal profile] actualwizard ), Teddy Altman ([personal profile] hulk_ling ) and YOU
Where: The brand new theater on the fourth floor
When: Saturday Night
Rating: PG-13 unless people are offended by sharks in tornados
Summary: Bad Movie Night featuring Sharknado and Sharknado 2: The Second One
The Story:

Billy and Teddy spent most of the week taking over two rooms on the fourth floor. By Saturday night they have everything set up on Wonderland's new theater. When you walk in the first thing you'll see is the large screen on the back wall. The boys have piled large pillows up in the front of the room. Behind them there are plenty of couches and recliners for everyone to pile onto. In the back of the room people will find a stocked snack bar filled with candy, popcorn and soda and other goodies that people have brought for the night.

The walls are adorned with framed movie posters from classic movies and some of the boys' favorites, and Teddy has thrown stuffed sharks of various sizes around the room to add atmosphere.

The boys have put a lot of work into this room and it shows. The first film will start promptly at 8 pm and the second will start at 10 (with a thirty minute intermission/bathroom break in between). Feel free to MST3K your way through the movies or chat quietly over how ridiculous all of this is. Did you bring alcohol? Feel like taking a drink each time one of the sharks takes a bite of someone? It’s your party, just try not to get too rowdy or you might find a rather large, green, Hulk-like bouncer there to break things up.

It’s all in good fun!

Need some prompts to get those wallflower characters moving? Here you go:

Scene 1 - Pre-show

Teddy and Billy are busy working to make sure every last piece of equipment works and that there are enough seats for everyone. The boys are probably playing one of their word games “Would You Rather?” with nerdy results. Feel free to pop by early with your snacks, get a good seat, or lend a hand!

Scene 2 - Sharknado

The movie has started and wow, it’s worse (or better) than you expected. Make comments to each other or let your conversation meander onto less silly topics. Feel free to munch on the snacks, gossip, or just throw bad commentary at the screen. After all, that’s what bad movies are all about!

Scene 3 - After Party

The movies are over. The party is breaking up but you’re having too much fun and the pillows are so soft. Plus, is that more popcorn I see? Stay and catch up with the people you missed while the movie was playing! I’m sure they have something they’re dying to talk to you about.

Scene 4 - Private Party

So movies aren’t your thing but dark places with soft pillows totally are. Well, you’re not into it for the movie. You’re here to try to make that special connection with someone. Find a corner, build yourselves a nice little pillow fort and have a good old fashioned Movie Theatre make out. Shhh, the boys won’t mind at all.

Feel free to use the prompts or just throw everyone in!

Billy and Teddy are both so glad you came.

Natasha slides in behind their recliners during the movie where the pair of them are snuggled up and fondly ruffles Billy's hair as she leans on the back of their chairs.

"And here I thought most people saved this for the romantic comedies," she teases them with an impish grin.

They really are sickeningly cute.

Teddy looked up and grinned, Billy lounged across his lap with a bowl of popcorn within reaching distance.

"What? You're telling me Sharknado isn't a romantic comedy?" Teddy asked innocently. "Those poor sharks just need some love. It's a heart breaking story of star crossed lovers - perfect for date night."

"Of the sharks having a romantic tragedy? Serves them right," she answered archly, reaching down to steal a piece of Billy's popcorn and popping it in her mouth. "It's ridiculous, but I expected it to be. Clint seems to be enjoying it, though."

Teddy glanced over to where Clint was sitting and grinned. "Everyone seems to be enjoying it, even if the movie is pretty terrible. I think we need to do this again."

He picked up a piece of popcorn and tossed it at Billy. "What do you think?"

Natasha shot them a mildly bewildered look. "You have stars fighting wars with each other? How does that even work?" she asks, feigning ignorance with her typical easy skill.

Then she just grins and winks. "I'm just kidding. Have it, we do."

For a moment Teddy was shocked, his mouth dropping open before she confessed she was kidding. "Oh thank god," he said a touch dramatically. "I didn't want to live in a world where there were people who had never heard of Star Wars. That's just incredibly sad."

"Someone's gotta keep you two on your toes," she teases them, laughing. "Yes, I've seen Star Wars. Not sure Steve and Bucky have yet, though, so that's definitely something that should happen."

"Yes, this needs to happen," Teddy nodded his head, resisting the urge to take the popcorn and dump it on top of Billy. Really, that last one nearly hit his eye! Instead, he reaches his hand beneath the bowl of popcorn and slips his hand beneath Billy's shirt, poking his belly.

That ought to teach him!

"I really want to be in the room when they see it for the first time," Teddy said. "I think I'll be watching their expressions instead of the movie, though. That might be kind of weird."
