( natasha romanoff | her room )
That Maria would wonder on later, whether it was another threat or something to be worried about, although with some of the names present it was definitely something to worry about. She'd gone down the whole floor checking each name, taking note of the ones that were familiar to her. Thirteen total, both SHIELD and civilian. If some of that wasn't a target...
Maria tried to push the thought from her mind for the minute. It was getting late, although she had no idea exactly how long she'd been here (or if the time was even the same). She stopped outside of Natasha's door on her way back, ignoring her own room for the minute. Names had come up, and maybe she wanted someone else to tell her that she wasn't hallucinating. Giving a quick but loud knock Maria took one step back from the door, looking down the hall again just in case Natasha wasn't in, and to keep a look for anyone (or anything) else.

When she opened the door to find Maria in the hall, however, she spares a moment to be surprised at the unexpected sight of the woman, blinking at her a moment as she adjust to this new information.
Then her lips curve into a crooked little grin as she leans against the door frame. "Fashionably late as always. At least I'm not bleeding out this time."

Admit it, Natasha, you might have missed her a little. However long you've been here, anyway - that detail she doesn't have. That detail she'll be sure to get soon, and from everyone. It was slightly a nightmare how many of them were there.
"You going to let me in. It's been a long day." Between Coulson, Ward and being kidnapped to another universe or dimension or who even knew. It was just a very long day.

She doesn't wait for an answer. Instead, she steps out into the hall and tugs her door shut behind her, fully intending to lead the way down the hall towards the stairs.

It doesn't stop Maria following, because otherwise she is not going to get anything from Natasha - not when she will easily be halfway down the hall otherwise.
"Why does 'long day' trigger bar to you?" What was wrong with sitting and getting the facts over coffee in her room, because Maria was slightly doubting that there would be too much fact sharing happening. Bars, Natasha.

And, before any witty remarks come in, she's perfectly capable of relaxing she just has her own way.
"How often do you end up there?" How comfortable have you had to get here?

Apparently now it was going to be the something stronger. Taking down SHIELD, Stark, Congress and now another strange dimension. She might just happen to multitask whilst she's relaxing - drink and information gathering, it worked for her.
"You've only heard?" Didn't fancy trying it out for yourself? And no, she's not in the mood for pie too, even if she hasn't yet eaten. "How far's the bar?"

"Should I ask any questions now or wait until you've gotten me a drink first?" They had three flights of stairs to get down, she could fit a lot of questions in to that and she'd probably still have enough left for the bar. If she got to ask them at all. Bars.

And yes, she is. Whether that's due to Maria's tendency to be difficult or Natasha's irritating persistence remains to be seen. "You can ask now, if you like. We have time."
no subject
"Then I'll start with 'how long have you been here'. I figure I don't need to ask about if you know about everyone that's here." Everyone they knew. It was Natasha, she'd know, but when you lived in such close proximity to them it could make them hard to miss.

"Rogers and Wilson? Are they from DC too?" Maria knew they were there at least, and knowing the when would help for when she actually spoke to them - maybe after this, or more likely after she'd slept.

"They are, yes. From near the end of the fighting. Barnes, though. He's from back before Hydra. He remembers falling from the train Steve thought he'd died on and that's the last of it." There's no ears here, but just in case, she lowers her voice for Maria alone, glancing around as she confides information they've all been keeping close in their time here. "He knows what happens, but we've been keeping it quiet in general. The others just think he's Steve's old war buddy."
