The Story:
Grounds, for Natasha.
[Event or no event, there are certain facts of life that still need to be minded regardless of what Wonderland is up to, which is why Emma can be found walking across the grounds with Lucky in tow-- or, more accurately, being pulled across the grounds by an energetic puppy who happens to be thrilled that the snow suddenly seems to have vanished.]
Look, Luck, I know you're excited for spring, but--
[She cuts herself off as something catches her ear: a faint sort of whistling from somewhere overhead, steadily growing stronger as it seems to draw nearer. She frowns to herself, digging her heels in as she looks upwards for the source-- only to see something hurtling towards her at top speed. She acts instinctively, lurching forward to clear the way for whatever it is, narrowly missing toppling over on top of Lucky in the process and turning around sharply just in time to see a smoking crater appear where it had landed.]
Holy crap.
[Seriously, what the hell.]
Coffee Shop, for Regina.
[Though Emma usually favors the diner, she's opted instead to take a break from life on the eighth floor. Wings aren't a good look for her, she's decided, and visiting the bar or anything on the floors in between is right out, given the way three through four have changed. Instead, she's settled into a seat at a table in the corner of Darcy's coffee shop, on one of the decidedly more normal floors, enjoying a cup of hot chocolate safe from any unwelcome effects the mansion might try to force on her-- or so she thinks.
After a few moments, she pulls out her phone and shoots Regina a text. They tend to make a habit of keeping in touch during events, even if it's often a subconscious one. When they're both responsible for the same kid, it just seems like a good idea to keep tabs on one another.]
Hey. Up for a coffee break? Darcy's place, first floor.
[Action]
Are you alright?
[Action]
Yeah, yeah, I'm fine-- close call.
[She frowns as she glances upwards again, just to see if they're about to be treated to an encore.]
That was-- random.
no subject
[ Natasha's voice is oh-so-dry as she wanders over to stop beside the blond woman as she stares down into the crater with a skeptical look, one eyebrow raised. ]
Random is a daily occurrence around here. [ Especially this week. ] Although this is new. What was that? Should we be worried about where it came from? [ Not that Natasha can tell where that was, though she cranes her head back to search the sky intently. ]
no subject
[This day is turning out to be in the 'more' category, which was righ in line with the rest of the week.]
I don't see anything up there-- nothing it could be dropped from or knocked off of. [She coughs once, waving some of the smoke away to help it clear as she approaches the crater, crouching beside it.] Whatever it is, it looks like it's wedged in there good. It almost looks like--
[Huh.]
A shoebox.
[Why?]
no subject
A shoe box. That's what we're getting dropped on us this week?
Are there actually shoes in it?
no subject
[She reaches to extract the box from the crater, tossing it from one hand to the other when she finds it still uncomfortably warm, though the smoke has begun to clear. It rattles a little, and that-- well, it sure as hell isn't shoes.]
Doesn't sound like shoes.
[She pops the lid off, while Lucky wiggles his way down into the crater itself and starts pawing at the ground.]
It's-- huh. Like a musical tour of the early 90's in here.
[She tips the box upwards to put it on display. Cassette tapes for days, some more potentially embarrassing than others.]
