The Story:

Your own medicine is worth twice the sweetness in the bush, that is what they say! Here is my plan, now make sure you listen well, or you get it wrong, and then I would need to pair you all up, for only two even wrongs set my head back on right, and we've no time for such things, no time at all, do we?

As mighty as the sharpest blade, as stout as the hardest shield, a spool of thread woven from hearts of gold. It must exist, and I must have it! She'll do worse to my head if I search, but you'll help, won't you? I will let you see, and you will be my eyes! All good things come tomorrow - then I'll let you see, and you'll be my eyes, and when it's all done you'll use your own mouths to tell my personal ears all you know, won't you?

All of Wonderland's mirrors are suddenly working in reverse. The Real side can see everything, and the Mirror side is left with nothing but their own reflections. Details of the event can be found here.

[So it turns out Alex's mirror is a big freaking asshole, big surprise there. And it also turns out he's really good at evading Alex's sight. He's reduced to combing the mansion in search of his erstwhile reflection.

The sight of someone with pictures upon pictures tacked up on his wall - a glaring similarity to Alex's own proclivities - gives him pause. What the hell's this guy's problem? As far as Alex can tell, none of the mirrors are what he'd call pleasant people, but the similarity to his own life experiences is a little too wrong-footing for him to just let it slide.

It's a nuisance, scribbling stuff on glass, but he does it anyway, etches out a message in his untidy script:]

[He stops as soon as the writing begins, and when it finishes he has a more honest frown. Not a strong one, but he's just annoyed enough to spark something...vaguely genuine. He answers out loud, refusing to expend the effort it would take to write back.]

I highly doubt that. Either way, it isn't your concern.

[Honestly, he doesn't ever feel like much of anything, so the lie is especially awkward, but he's certainly not about to tell this person the truth.]

Because this isn't the first time Reals have been able to watch us. Most Mirrors haven't existed long enough to remember that.

At least three years, I believe. There was a chess match, and as a reward for winning all Mirrors were permitted to be on Real Side for an entire week - something of a vacation, I suppose. However, it allowed all of the Real Things to watch us from this side.

I suspect that's the only reason it bothers any of these Mirrors. That, and the inevitability of our Queen's wrath.
