[He hadn't known what to make of it when all the mirrors disappeared and it became clear they could cross over to the other side without issue. After watching several of his counterparts do just that Ser Alistair finally decided to follow, curiosity getting the better of him.

He's cautiously exploring the real side of Wonderland when he sees her. The Warden that he's seen around his Real looks far better than her counterpart. Not only is she free from the visible signs of the darkspawn taint but somehow she seems more alive, brighter somehow. Not terribly surprising, given he thinks the same comparison might be drawn between himself and his Real. It stirs a tiny flicker of resentment in his chest, the same that he feels watching the idiot most of the time.

...Speaking of watching, unseen from behind the mirrors he's forgotten that he's not. And can be seen. And he's been standing there - not exactly subtle, in his templar uniform - staring at her for long enough for her to notice and draw close.

Alistair freezes in place, trying to decide if he should shove past her and escape or try to pretend to be his Real or just act like there's nothing unusual about the situation at all. He hesitates too long for the first option to work and he doesn't have high hopes for his ability to imitate the idiot so settles for folding his arms and frowning down at her.]

What do you want?

[Never mind that he'd been staring at her. That's not the point.]

[ Robyn knows that it isn't the Alistair she's come to know immediately. How could she not, with the stark difference in his expression and, more tellingly, the templar dress? If that wasn't enough, she notices before long that the Mirror is staring openly at her.

Naturally, she approaches, smiling tentatively. ]

You don't have to be so defensive. [ She points out. ] I'm not going to hurt you, or... anything like that.

[ Why would she, considering who he is, and without cause? ]

Anyhow, you were the one boring holes into the back of my head. [ Her smile widens a little, teasing. ] So... if you're a templar, shall I call you 'Ser Alistair,' or would you prefer another name?

[ Having avoided the Mirrors until this point, she has no idea whether or not they prefer to share names with their counterparts or staunchly avoid it. ]

[He snorts at the idea he might be worried about her hurting him. Oh, she's doubtless a skilled fighter - he's heard all the stories about Grey Wardens - but he's confident in his ability to take her in a one-on-one fight. And unless she's a lot more aggressive than the other one he doesn't think it's likely to come to that. For the best, he doesn't want to be the one to draw the Queen's wrath by stirring up trouble.

His frown deepens at the question, eyes dropping to stare at the floor rather look at her.]
That's my name. I don't see why I shouldn't use it. [Even if she objects he's not going to stop using it just because of the other Alistair. It's his name as much as the idiot's. He hesitates a moment before adding-] Warden Cousland.

[Hooray, they know each other's names. Now he should try and make his escape.

Instead he finds himself looking back at the smiling, attractive, normal-looking woman before him and remembering his conversation with the other Cousland.]

You're awfully cheerful. [It sounds a lot like an accusation.]

I didn't mean that you shouldn't use it. [ Robyn points out. ] I was only asking.

[ She has a preference, after all, and is quick to note it: ] You can call me Robyn, if you like.

[ Somehow, she doubts he'll like that, or much anything else she says. Distantly, this interaction already reminds her of her early conversations with the Real Alistair, and though it's an uncomfortable thought, she tries to not let it show. ]

I think I'm usually of about this disposition. [ The Warden replies lightly. ] I can try and be extra surly, if you want. [ beat ] Does my smiling bother you?

[ Come on, Ser Alistair, that's just dramatic. ]
