you're moving everything so fast that
Who: Amethyst and YOU
Where: Neverland
When: Throughout the event
Rating: I'm gonna put PG-13 for violence just in case.
Summary: Amethyst is a Lost One. A very angry gem means a very dangerous island for the adults.
The Story:
a.
Amethyst has been a Lost One for a very, very long time. She knows it's the longest amount of time of any other Lost One here. Thousands of years. She lost count. She'd never even seen another person before she heard Pan's pipes. Now she's surrounded by mostly humans, and she still hasn't quite gotten down what makes someone human and what makes them not.
But that's fine. She likes these humans and nonhumans that make up her fellow Lost Ones. They're the only people she's ever known, and they're just like her. Not that they're ultra powerful and purple, but just like her in that they've been left behind by everyone else. She only knows what adults are in the stories other Lost Ones sometimes tell. She's been told they're big, strong, and cruel.
She hates them.
And now they're on her island.
She doesn't much like people that are much bigger than her, as a rule. Most Lost Ones are bigger, but not too much bigger, so they're fine. With adults, it's another story.
She takes on the form of a purple owl and flies through the trees, keeping watch over her Lost One friends and keeping an eye out for adults. She periodically hoots to keep up the charade -- and because it's just fun to make owl sounds.
You might find an owl following you.
b.
A purple child grits her sharpened teeth and scratches wildly at her messy white hair, crouching down in agitation. This happens sometimes. She sees things in the trees, Neverland shows her ghosts and she never gets used to it. A huge adult with a gem like hers and a cascade of pink curls reaches a hand out to her and she gnashes her teeth at it.
"You're allowed to be angry," the strange vision says, and Amethyst growls and scampers up a tree, baring her sharp teeth at it. It doesn't go away, but it doesn't say anything else.
Amethyst hops from branch to branch, making her way quickly away from the vision, glancing back to make sure it's still there every time. Finally, when it's out of sight, she angrily licks her wrist and rubs it onto her face to clean at herself, grumbling as she does.
"'Course I'm allowed... No one can say I'm not allowed to do anything..."
She doesn't notice anyone nearby.
c.
Amethyst doesn't need to eat. That doesn't mean she doesn't hunt.
When she's bored, sometimes she'll spend the time catching fish while avoiding mermaids, making a game of seeing how many fish she can pierce with a spear before the mermaids start getting agitated with her and she has to run away. She plays fast and loose with mortality seeing as, as far as she knows, she has none, so she gets riskier and riskier with how close she's willing to let the mermaids get before she runs off.
She returns to an encampment just fine this time, though, and, raw fish dangling from her mouth, she sets a spear full of fish over the fire to cook. She tears at the flesh of the raw fish with her fangs, but the cooked ones? Those are for her friends. Any Lost One who is enticed by the smell of cooking fish will get some.
If anyone else happens across her and the encampment, things won't turn out so nice for them.
wildcard.
[I'll match prose or brackets. Feel free to run into Amethyst wherever.]

A
The thing is, Souji likes animals. He likes owls. Hearing one hoot, he turns to look for it. It's a welcome distraction from being lost in the woods.
no subject
It hoots again and flies closer, landing just above his head and looking down at him. Closer, the dark doesn't hide the fact that it's purple. It looks down smugly at him. Then its beak stretches open unnaturally, revealing rows of sharp, sharp teeth.
no subject
Well the teeth clench the idea, but more than that, they're pretty terrifying.
"...Amethyst?"
Please don't be a crazy child who wants to stab him. Please don't be a crazy child who wants to stab him.
no subject
"How do you know that name?" she asks warily. "What is your purpose here?"
no subject
He and Amethyst aren't best buddies, but he does know her, and he likes her pretty well. He wonders, though, if she'll even believe that he knows her. The other Lost Ones he's run into so far haven't seemed to remember him, or if they do, it's not fondly.
no subject
She glares at him, gripping her whip, holding it at the ready. Before she was a lost one, she never knew anyone. Not a single soul ever found her in her years in that barren gorge, curling up in her hole, spending her days playing with rocks. Lonely and abandoned. No adult should know her name.
no subject
"I know your name because you're a person I know." He speaks slowly. Not the kind of slow that would say that Amethyst doesn't understand. The kind of slow that's trying to calm her so that she doesn't attack him. "If you don't remember, that's okay."
no subject
"I bet you caught another Lost One, caught and interrogated them about everything they knew, I bet you're trying to trick me! Well it won't work!! You're trying to hurt us or take us away or something but I'll definitely kill you first! Adults don't belong on Neverland!" She snaps her whip at him, a warning strike.
no subject
"I'm not here because I want to be." That's the truth, though she won't believe it. He crosses his arms loosely over his mid-section - over a distinct slash of red across his shirt - and represses a sigh. "Do you really want to kill me?"
no subject
Don't show weakness.
"I'll kill anyone that threatens the Lost," she says darkly. "Quickly, and gladly. And I'm really strong, so you're better off just running away. Far, far away from this island." She grips her whip's handle tightly.

They didn't even give her a chance to be born before they ignored her. Ignored her for her entire life. Left her in that gorge with only rocks for company.
"I know it! I know it myself! You don't have to attack me for me to know you're a threat!"
no subject
But not all of them. He chances moving a little closer to where she's sitting in the tree.
no subject
"Are you trying to say you're different?! Then prove it! Prove to me that you're different!"
She knows he can't prove it in this situation. Even if he was. But she doesn't believe that.
no subject
He holds his arms out a little at his sides. He's not armed, she can see that. Of course, his Personas are always with him, but he wouldn't attack a child with them, even if that child were to try to hurt him.
"And you're not ignoring or hurting me. That's how it should be, right?"
no subject
"That doesn't mean you won't!" she shouts. "You can't be trusted!!"
no subject
"Can you be trusted?"
no subject
There must have been something wrong with her. Something.
"...I don't..." she starts, backing off slightly. But she realizes what he's doing -- he's trying to trick her -- and she pushes again. "Yes! Yes I can! The Lost Ones can always trust me!"
no subject
"I believe you."
She'd have to believe him in the same way in order to "prove" anything to her, but he's not counting on that.
no subject
A pink-haired woman who appears in the shadows at night. She's fake. She's fake, but Amethyst has seen her.
She grits her teeth and growls, "Shut up!" and snaps her whip at him, screwing her eyes shut in frustration.
no subject
no subject
She strikes again.
no subject
"I'm not leaving you behind."
no subject
She doesn't strike again. It's not working. He's just taking it. She brings her free hand to her head and makes a frustrated sound.
no subject
To be left alone in an active sense, wouldn't that just be painful? Someone giving up and turning away, like she wasn't worth the time and effort.
no subject
"I just don't get it! What are you looking to get out of this?!"
no subject
"You don't have to understand. But I worry for you."
no subject
"I never asked you to! I never asked for any of this! Everyone thinks they can just do to me whatever they want!! Just 'cause I'm small!" She curls into a ball. "I just want people to care about me! And stop leaving me all the time!"
no subject
Amethyst isn't one of his close friends under normal circumstances, and he doesn't know a whole lot about her as an adult. Regardless, he worries about kids, and kids he knows at all especially.
