Summary: Steve is trying to figure out what his "gift" from RQ does. Its rightful owner comes across him.
The Story:
[ The item had shown up at his doorstep, wrapped up like a gift. Steve knows better than to trust these kinds of thing by now, but he's nonetheless curious, and soon enough there are messages popping up all over the network with people trying to get items back to their owners.
He could do the same, but he'd like to figure out what it actually does, first. If this item is dangerous, or if its owner is someone who might use it for nefarious purposes, then it makes sense to take some care with it before simply handing it over to the first person to claim it's theirs.
So he takes the dummy out onto the grounds, in an open grassy area near the gardens. He's got the dummy set up, and somehow the item knows how to mimic the appearance of whoever's using it. In other words, he's staring at a mirror of himself.
He doesn't know if there's more to it. Is it supposed to be some kind of distraction? Or could this thing come to life? Steve would rather not see what that might look like.
Wanting to test every possibility, he approaches the dummy and takes a swing at it. ]
