Not that Tim can talk. He's not one for smiling. Or emoting very much on the positive spectrum side of things, unless he's, apparently, the verge of something as seemingly irreversible as losing a memory for the sake of the greater good. He's not even gonna guess as to what that says about him as a person; he already knows that he's just kind of a piece of shit by default.

He's getting distracted. The point of this little endeavor was meet and greet, and here he is, shirking both of those personal goals. Time to at least try.

So he tries, nodding politely in greeting.
