[In a valiant effort at making the best of a bad situation, Lapis and Peridot have decided to go camping. What better way to avoid both the entire mansion and awkward conversations? It's unfortunate that so many other people had the same idea -- seriously, wouldn't you humans rather at least stay indoors? -- but screw all y'all, they're going to do their thing and they're going to like it.
While Peridot is back in the building getting supplies, Lapis is in charge of setting up outside. Normally she might prefer leaving everything up to her energetic, excitable little friend, but if nothing more she actually does like getting to pick the location. As out of the way as possible, past the lake and very nearly in the forest outskirts. Yes, good.
At this point, Lapis hasn't achieved much, although she currently seems to be eyeing a couple trees speculatively for some mysterious purpose. She undoubtedly is responsible for the thing that was probably supposed to be a small tent but has come out looking like an abstract sculpture, and she's completely okay with that. It's got the green Canadian flag on top, and that's the important thing, after all.]
