They look at him, and it's like the rest of the world stops.

They haven't actually looked at him in months. Always avoiding his gaze. Always looking somewhere past him, or at his feet. He's tried to be careful about looking at them as well, because he knows they don't like it when he stares.

But now they look at him.

And it's all too late now. They're both stuck. Wonderland's got them. He should have teleported away instantly, without saying a goddamn word.

"i--yes. yes, i--think there's something you can tell me, and i want to know what i did wrong so i can--can try to fix it if i can, but i--not like this, kid. i don't want it to happen like this. but i needed--the moment i saw you, i felt like i needed--i take everything from you, don't i?"

God, he can't stop.

"i heard my voice in your room. i thought it was--it's irrational, i know it is. i thought it was my mirror. i thought he was--so i went in."

He takes everything from them.

"i'm sorry. but that doesn't mean anything anymore."
