Being British, Mahir may not be the most physically demonstrative friend Maggie has, but he's worlds more affectionate than Shaun, and certainly Georgia. He might not even realize how starved he's been for physical contact since arriving in Wonderland, mostly because it's not a thing he really thinks about. But since marrying Nan, he's gotten used to a certain amount of daily physical contact, and he's gotten much better at being the one to initiate it, and at telling when it's needed or welcome.
He gives a soft laugh, without much humor behind it, and squeezes her gently. "Why are you reading my mind? I don't know that I could do my job half as well without you. I mean that. I can't tell you how much of a relief it is knowing you've got the fictionals in hand. I don't think there's anyone else who quite understands what we've been through with the site in the last year. Which is good," he adds quickly. "I wouldn't want all of our staff knowing what we do to keep them employed. But it makes a hell of a difference knowing you're there if a crisis comes up."
