Billy just watches him. He’s had years to learn Teddy’s tells, his expressions and everything that’s he’s always tried to hide from the world. He’s an expert at easing his boyfriend. That’s why when he stopped being able to read the other Teddy that was here he knew something was wrong- why he ended things.
This Teddy he can read. This Teddy- his Teddy is an open book to him. He watches as he gathers his thoughts, as he has to steady himself against the wall. He had thought that after living through it again he wouldn’t want to be near Teddy, but it’s the opposite. He wants to be wrapped up in teddy’s strong arms and never let go again.
He’s moving before he even notices, moving across the distance between them and forcing himself into Teddy’s space, wrapping his arms around him and holding him tightly. “He wasn’t you.”
