He's right there, too. There's a certain wisdom in that, even if he maybe won't recognize it as wisdom. Just...acceptance. Is it giving up, if you know you cannot change it? Is determination all but useless, when the fate is already carved into stone?

It's not really a resolve to change every fate, and even if it's just your own, there's a limit to how much it can do. How far it can go.
