[OPEN] Days of Future Past-ish
Who: Kitty Pryde (age 13) and YOU!
Where: Around
When: February 9-11
Rating: Mentions of parental deaths
Summary: Kitty is 13 again and a day ago techno-organic soldiers came to abduct her and murdered her parents as she fled. She’s been on the run since then and now Wonderland.
The Story:
Inside the Mansion
[She’s been running for a day. Sometimes literally and sometimes it’s the kind of running where you’re just trying to stay ahead of your pursuers and out of sight. But she doesn’t know how they found her in the first place. Can they track her directly somehow? Are they close? And when she’s still long enough for her mind to stop spinning about who they are and what they’ll do to her when they catch her all she can do is think about her parents. She hears her mother’s scream replaying in her mind again and her father saying they can’t take his daughter and then nothing. They just killed them like they were nothing. Like it was the easiest way to brush them aside. And it was because of her. They only wanted her.
She’s barely aware that the splitting headaches have stopped, but her body is still tingling from the last time she did that thing where she was on one side of a wall and then on the other side. She’s one of them. A mutant. She tries to stay out of sight because she feels like everyone can see it on her even though she looks the same as she always has—a slightly awkward 13-year-old girl with bushy hair and a dancer’s body. She sits in a dark place in the alley and curls her arms around herself and ducks her head. The tears haven’t come yet. She’s too shocked by it all to cry.
But when she lifts her head again she doesn’t see the dumpsters and empty boxes or dirty concrete of the alley. She’s in a hallway in some kind of building. Is this her power too? It doesn’t make sense. Adding confused to terrified, heartsick, and miserable. She explores the mansion, sometime slipping in and out of rooms both public and private, but she always uses the doors, not trusting her powers. Though if someone comes up on her suddenly she may turn and push against a wall unsuccessfully trying to escape. So, that’s a weird thing to look forward to.]
Outside the mansion
[There’s snow. How is there snow? It was warm in Chicago. Of course, it doesn’t take long for surprise over snow to turn into surprise—and wonder—over dinosaurs. She shivers and crouches down behind a tree to watch them.]
Wildcard
[Because some cards can’t be tamed. Just go for it or hit me up if you want to discuss.]
