The Story:
How many battles were ever fought with an exact equal number of soldiers on both sides? The one they might be about to face? Cullen doubts even that. He also doubts that he can expect cooperation or even honesty. No reliable answers. But answers. Those will be a start.
He writes the same message on a mirror in the entrance hall, the dining hall, the library, and in a corridor on the fifth and tenth floor:
How many of you will fight for her?
Afterwards he patrols the spots for answers.
