[ jesse had pulled up a chair near where he had set his dish and has since elected to sit back with a cold drink and watch the others mill about. it's reminiscent of his time in annville, before everything went to hell (which, truth be told, was pretty quickly). everyone socializing and having a relatively decent time out in front of the church after a mediocre sermon. kids playing games, adults grilling whatever they could get their hands on. of course that was a time when he thought they were all decent people underneath all the awful. people who could be saved. turns out that under the awful parts, things were just a lot worse.
his thoughts are quickly pulled from his idyllic annville that still could've been saved when a woman approaches.
jesse touches the collar around his neck when she gestures to it ]
Course it is. Wouldn't be wearin it if it weren't real.
