WIRT - REAL SIDE

A. December 12th - various places

[Wirt's been in Wonderland for four holiday seasons now, but it still sneaks up on him every year. Suddenly the mansion is decked out for the holidays and Wirt is feeling a little paranoid. Sure, the biggest thing seems like it's the huge amount of people in Wonderland, but who knows? There have been years where eating holiday food hand strange effects, so Wirt spends the first couple days walking around as though he might walk into trap somehow.

He's overly cautious, but...it's also because he's a little overwhelmed by Wonderland being more crowded than normal. He keeps retreating to the library and the music room, and looking for any quiet corner of Wonderland he can find.

For those who knew him once, he doesn't stand out quite as much as he used to - he's stopped wearing his gnome costume, and swapped it out for a simpler sweater. His anxious nature is probably instantly familiar though.

B. December 15th - The Music Room

[Within a couple of days, Wirt's mostly adjusted to the new amount of people. They don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, and he's run into people that make the sudden influx entirely worth it.

Still, some things he does out of habit - like head to the music room to practice the clarinet. However, when he opens the door a scene plays out before him. A Christmas scene, with his family back home - his mother, his stepfather, and Greg. It looks like a pretty normal Christmas from what he can tell, but he doesn't recognize it at first. Maybe his last Christmas at home was so long ago now that the details are fuzzy?

It takes him a minute to figure out what's strange about it, but when he does he gasps.

Greg's frog. Greg's frog is there, hopping around among the presents, which can only mean one thing--

...We made it home?

[Wirt's so stunned that he doesn't notice when the scene finishes playing and blinks out of existence, revealing the music room once more. He just stands in the door dumbly, letting it all sink in.]
