He looks crestfallen, with obvious pain in his eyes, but he tries to hold himself together nonetheless. Ishimaru has definitely accepted that his kyoudai is dead, but he just hoped that it wouldn't be the case here.
...And the last memory that his other self is telling him about isn't much better.
He may not have experienced it himself, but Ishimaru eventually learned in Verens how he died back in the killing game. It must be the moment when Yamada-kun attacked him... but what can he say? He doesn't want to tell his younger self that the attack most likely killed him.
Should he just lie? Hold a secret? He's done that before and while he's not proud of that, Ishimaru decides that it might be best for now.]
