Where: Anywhere outside on Real Side, but mostly in the gardens!

Summary: Alice has invited everyone, Reals and Mirrors alike, to come color outside in the nice spring weather with magic chalk. Surely nothing could go wrong with that plan, right?
The Story:

Outside, the weather is absolutely beautiful. It's not too hot, but not too cold either, and no one would have ever realized there was snow on the ground yesterday if they hadn't been here to see it. The grass is green and everything is dry - no sign of melted snow anywhere at all. Flowers have begun to bloom and it truly looks as though it's been spring for some time already. The season has changed abruptly and now Wonderland's decided it's time for it to be nice out.

There are many paths through the gardens, the vendors, and the hedge maze that can be drawn on, but as Alice demonstrated in her post, there's no need at all to stick to pavement only. Even the air can be decorated with living drawings!

This is a log for people who want to come color outside or people who want to check out what others are doing out here. It isn't strictly to interact with Alice, but she'll be around and will have a top level.

She did! Sadie's a good person. She always tries her best, it's great! [He looks around.]

Hmmm, where should we go next? ...Something tells me we should skip the other food places, as much as I miss Fish Stew Pizza and the fry place.. hey, wanna meet my dad?

It... is, isn't it? [He says, a bit nervously now that he's realizing that Lapis might not recognize this.]

Iiiit's... the Big Doughnut!

[jamminshield]

[He smiles warmly. He knows he's come a long way, but Clementine complimenting him about it makes him feel even prouder.]

Thanks Clementine. Yeah, I do got this! [He pumps a fist proudly!] It took a long time, but I think I've gotten the hang of most of my powers. Ooh, I should float next!

[ssmisery]

Right... [Lapis stares thoughtfully at the drawing. She knows little of the Big Donut, but it was irrelevant background scenery once. Her limited perspective of that general area is coming into better focus; in its way that's actually sort of interesting. Everything has changed so very much.]

If you go further that way... [That is, down the boardwalk.] That's kind of where we met too, right?

[jamminshield]

Yes, that's right!! [He loosely outlines that part of the boardwalk.] That's where we first started to talk to each other. And you saved me from Mayor Dewey's car! [Never mind that he didn't actually try to move out of the car's way in response.]

Man, this really is like a trip down memory lane...

[Spurred by those memories, he starts to draw Dewey's car nearby on the beach.]

I've known him long enough. I can read people pretty damn well.

[Louis used to be that way- selfish, spiteful. He knows exactly what that level of maliciousness looks like. He's very much acquainted with that. He doesn't see it in Wirt. Maybe because he doesn't want to see it- much like he never wanted to see how deep down in the metaphorical rabbit hole Marlon was. There's a blindness to loyalty- but he doesn't care much. Loyalty means a lot to him. He folds his arms, digging his heels in. ]

I've never thought of him as selfish. He talked to me after pushing me away when he had every damn right to keep me pushed away. He's not infallible, but no one is. Everyone makes mistakes- it's being able to own them and make them good again. That's what matters.

[dejavoodoo]

She nods, making a face. "It's an odd trade off, I guess. And I'm here, so there's that. Whether it's that side or this side," she agrees, pushing to her feet and moving carefully amid the chalk frogs. "I think I'm going to go explore before things are over," she says, smiling widely at him. "It's been real nice meeting you."

[teamfun]

Okay, I'm pretty sure 'fish, stew and pizza' don't belong together in the same sentence.

[After the chalk doughnuts, he's passing HARD on that, he'll aim for family instead. Probably safer. ]

Sure! I'd love to meet your dad.

[slapfight]

What? Really?

[Peridot finds that to be exceedingly bad math, considering how form and function are requirements for her enjoyment of things. Having something "just because" is still strange and foreign to her, but that's what the 'morps are. And that's what music is. A pattern created just for the feeling of bringing it to completion.

She opens her mouth to say something, closes it, hems and haws for a few moments, and then decides where she falls on it. This may be a different circumstance from the one she'll eventually learn this lesson from, but she trusts Lapis and Wonderland has taught her a lot about pointless novelty in the face of endless boredom.]

Well... It's still bringing something to life in a place where everything is manufactured and not under our control. [She touches the chalk petal of one awkward sunflower.] That's something.

"Guess there is that."

He offers a fleeting smile of his own. She was okay- Misty but not Misty. It was a weird concept to get his head around, but she'd given him no reason to be anything but friendly to her. His own stand-offish brand of friendly anyway.

"Yeah, sure. Uh...enjoy this side while you can, I guess."

We sure had a lot of first meetings.

[Since, depending how you look at it, you could say they met when Steven got the mirror, or when they started communicating, or when he let her out. Considering her actual circumstances back then, maybe this should be a trip down bad memory lane for Lapis, but honestly -- even at the time, Steven was always a bright spot. That was basically the exact point where things started to get better. And she's gotten enough distance and progress in to make awkward jokes at the Thanksgiving table, besides, so she can handle a little reminiscing, at a lighter time on her own terms. It feels good to have that power. It's a nice day.

Anyway, her side of the beach is boring so she's paying more attention to what Steven's doing now.]

Oh, I remember that thing.

[She snickers, even. We all know what other moments the mayormobile reminds her of.]

"We can compare notes! I'm sure we'll find out more that way."

[madehervows]

[... Well, that's just adorable. How is she supposed to stay bothered about rainbow hair like that?]

Alright. [With a smile, she grabs the bowl of chalk dust.] Close your eyes.

[Not wanting Steven to choke on dust like she had, she starts sprinkling it on his hair.]

[ Steve can feel his fists curling. ]

People don’t want to be ruled. Taking away freedom isn’t practical, and your Hydra can try to do what it wants but there will always be people standing up and willing to fight for freedom.

[hypoxic]

People don't want the things they need. They require more rational minds to lead them.

[ his eyes meet Steve's, cool and dispassionate. ]

What will you do now without Peggy Carter to lead you? Or have you already found a new skirt to chase?

[ssmisery]

[Okay! That's not bad. Relieved, Lapis hastens to add more of whatever might be vaguely helpful.]

I mean, humans eat them. There was this whole thing where we all gathered around to celebrate the grim inevitability of marriage...

[Do they need to recreate all that too? They don't have an Andy.]

And I guess there's Pumpkin, but that was something Steven did.

[Has she even mentioned Pumpkin yet, she's not sure. Lapis isn't even sure exactly what Steven did, except that in retrospect everyone should have been a whole lot more suspicious of his ridiculous power set, huh.]

[ It’s Peggy’s name that makes him snap. He’d been holding back because of her, when all he’d wanted to do since Claire told him what’s Fitz did was let him have it. But talking about Peggy, not giving her the respect she earned and deserved was the last straw. He doesn’t even think, snapping his fist out and connecting with Fitz’s face. The snap of skin meeting skin is satisfying, as is the way his head turns to the side with the force of it. Even with Steve pulling the punch. His voice is low and dangerous when he speaks. ]

Don’t you dare even think of Peggy Carter, she is worth ten of you. I think we’re done here.

[ He turns, intent on finding Freya and letting her know that her charge is out of his room. ]

He beams. It's honestly so nice to have somebody to share his research with. Though there are a few in Wonderland who want to understand how the place works, none put quite as much work in as Entrapta does. It's nice to see.

"Oh, we can absolutely do that!"

[hypoxic]

[He isn't expecting violence, no matter how much he really should have been. Until now, his interactions with Captain America have been tame, tense but ultimately toothless. Even now, after the tortures and the captivity, the horror that he's experienced at the hands of the people here, he isn't prepared for a simple punch.

He's wide open when it happens, and his body quickly becomes a ragdoll as the kinetic energy knocks him off-balance. His head twists without his volition, and the rest of his body follows, crumpling to one knee. His face throbs, and he's at once positive that something's broken. Steve turns before the skin around his eye has a chance to swell and grow dark.

For everything he thinks he is, the doctor is still ultimately one very small man in over his head.]

Helping with what? [He asks, curious.] Aw, that sucks... [But is also confusing, as people don't really... get sick in Wonderland, and it stands to argue that mirrors don't, either.]

"Maybe... I met a witch when I was here the first time- Freya Mikaelson. Do you know her?" Because.... all the witches are friends. Or... something. That's how it works, right? Whatever, it's totally a legitimate question! He's about to ask her something about that electricity thing when she reaches out to grab him, and her hand passes right through him. "Okay, that's kinda awesome." He grins as he looks back up at her again.

[curiousher]

"It's positively lovely to meet you, Chalk Lion!"

Alice curtsies, as one does when meeting a Lion for the first time, and then reaches out to pet his mane.

"Oh my gosh," she whispers in awe. "It's like cotton candy…"

She's absolutely in love. What a wonderful lion. 13/10.

Entrapta claps her hands happily, then with a wave of her hair, heads back to the other side of the mirror.

[jamminshield]

Those words go together a lot better than you might think! [He says with a waggle of his finger.]

Great! Then here we go! [Steven runs ahead as he makes his way towards the local car wash!]

[jamminshield]

Yeah. And I loved every first meeting! [Even if they involved sad times. But at least now most things are behind them, and Lapis isn't imprisoned or on the run. They're free to do as many friendship activities as they want, so everything feels more nostalgic.]

Doooo you? [He says with a sly grin as he remembers the mayormobile. Then, he giggles as he draws some stink lines surrounding the vehicle.]
