Summary: Alice has invited everyone, Reals and Mirrors alike, to come color outside in the nice spring weather with magic chalk. Surely nothing could go wrong with that plan, right?
The Story:

Outside, the weather is absolutely beautiful. It's not too hot, but not too cold either, and no one would have ever realized there was snow on the ground yesterday if they hadn't been here to see it. The grass is green and everything is dry - no sign of melted snow anywhere at all. Flowers have begun to bloom and it truly looks as though it's been spring for some time already. The season has changed abruptly and now Wonderland's decided it's time for it to be nice out.

There are many paths through the gardens, the vendors, and the hedge maze that can be drawn on, but as Alice demonstrated in her post, there's no need at all to stick to pavement only. Even the air can be decorated with living drawings!

This is a log for people who want to come color outside or people who want to check out what others are doing out here. It isn't strictly to interact with Alice, but she'll be around and will have a top level.

[Wait. What.]

... That's all?

[She grabs the mirror to check her hair and groans when she sees it.]

It was supposed to change my hair back. But I guess it's staying for now.

[jamminshield]

Oh, so that's what it was supposed be! [He scratches at his head.] I'm sorry that it didn't work.

If it really bothers you... Maybe you can try wearing a hat or something for now?

[madehervows]

Well, I do look good in hats.

[No.]

I could keep trying, but who knows what might end up rainbow next? [She shakes her head with a slight smile.] Unless you'd like some rainbow hair.

[jamminshield]

[Steven responds with a shrug.]

Well, I don't think I'd say no to it. And then we can match!

[madehervows]

[... Well, that's just adorable. How is she supposed to stay bothered about rainbow hair like that?]

Alright. [With a smile, she grabs the bowl of chalk dust.] Close your eyes.

[Not wanting Steven to choke on dust like she had, she starts sprinkling it on his hair.]

[jamminshield]

Okay! [Steven then closes his eyes obediently as she does her thing. He's excited!] Let me know when!

[madehervows]

[Once there's a good amount of chalk dust in his hair, Regina twists her wrist to add a little magic to it and poof.]

You can open your eyes. [She grabs the mirror to show him.] It looks good on you.

[jamminshield]

[He gasps and pretty much goes starry-eyed as he beholds his reflection.]

It's beautiful!! Thank you so much!

[madehervows]

[Regina smiles and shakes her head.]

You're very welcome. I guess it's not so bad having hair like this if I have someone to match with.

[jamminshield]

Exactly! [He gives her a thumbs up.] We'll be like birds of a rainbow feather. And hey, maybe this will kick off a new Wonderland fashion trend!

[It would be an oddly specific legacy for them to leave behind.]

[madehervows]

[Well, it's better than her current legacy.]

It's not exactly my usual style, but it might brighten things up a bit.

[Plus, some of these people deserve a little humiliation by rainbow hair.]

I never asked your name, did I? I'm Regina.

[jamminshield]

I guess not. Hi Regina! [He waves cheerily.] My name's Steven. Steven Quartz Universe! Pleased to meet you!

[madehervows]

It's nice to meet you too, Steven. Have you done anything with the chalk?

[jamminshield]

Oh, just a few things here and there! I drew a bunch of people I miss from home and my home city itself... just a few little things here and there!

[madehervows]

I know the feeling. [Honestly, if she was an artist, she might've drawn a few people in private, too.] Are you here alone, Steven?

[jamminshield]

I'm never alone. [He says that warmly, with a soft smile. But with a hint of sadness in his features at the same time.]

If- if you mean people from home, there's two people I know here, and they're really great! [That doesn't change how sorely he misses everyone else, though.]

[madehervows]

That's a good attitude to have. [If she wasn't reminded of her son before, she definitely is now.]

Oh, I'm glad to hear that. [Because...] It can be hard to be here by yourself.

[jamminshield]

[He smiles warmly in response. But the end of that gives her pause.]

It- it must be. [This place would be a lot scarier if he didn't have Lapis and Peridot around from the beginning. He ends up looking at the older woman in concern, though.]

...What about you?

[madehervows]

[Regina smiles in return, but it's sadder than before.]

I've had a lot of my family here over the years, but it's just me and... an ally now.

[jamminshield]

[It's not as bad as he feared, but still sad enough to tug down his smile.]

...Oh. I- I'm glad you could have some time with them here. And I'm sorry that they're gone. ...It's always great to have allies, though! [Allies are practically friends, right.]

[madehervows]

It is, and I met someone very special in Wonderland so I'll be okay. [It's true love, after all.] But it's also nice that they're not here anymore. Even if I can't see them, I know they're safe at home.

[jamminshield]

[He nods along.]

Right. That's the good part about people not being here... it means that they're safe from all this weirdness. [That's what comforts Steven about not being able to see his dad, the Crystal Gems, Connie, Lion or anyone.]

And you met a very special someone, too? I'm very happy for you, Regina!
