Gren has been swerving between utter boiling rage and devastating worry. When Misty didn't reappear when everyone else came out of the weird magical object bullshit that he realised she'd gone home. Her things were still around, he knew she'd come back- that she wasn't gone forever. But he knew what she was going back to- how many years would she be stuck there, in that awful fucking loop? His heart breaks for her. She doesn't deserve any of that.
He is, indeed, by the lake- staring out at the water, face a scowl in the hope it would keep people away. He didn't want company or comfort of fucking sympathy. If someone came too close to him, he wasn't sure he wouldn't just snap and try to rip their goddamn fucking faces off. So at the sound of an approach, he turns with a scowl- the scowl very quickly vanishing to surprise at the sight of her.
