"There are other reasons; you meet people here. We can't all be shut-ins, and we interact and grow fond of one another. I've been here two years and I've met people I'm so thankful for. But some of them have gone, and we don't share the same world. I'll likely never see them again."

Claire thinks fondly of Caleb and Benjamin; they're from the same time, and now she's even in the Colonies, has met Washington himself. But what would the odds be of seeing them? Especially with how Wonderland plays with memory.

"Normally, we have our memories to look back on fondly, but once I leave here, those memories will be gone. Even if I do see them somehow, I won't remember them."
