"I was a cop. I know all about big tough guys who just want a hug a puppy."

She pauses for a moment, the smile dropping briefly from her face. Something about all of this--being around this man, talking about dogs--seems familiar. A feeling of deja-vu overtakes her for a moment and she stares at him.
