The Story:
For the weekend, everyone is either a teacher or a student at a Japanese high school. Enjoy Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and look forward to exams on Monday.

Even so, the fujoshi in the modern audience would probably try to use a scene where one pretty boy accidentally killing another to justify whatever they're trying to ship... Am I right, ladies?

And see, you do know the correct answer- all you need to do is give me that. I won't accept jokey answers on the exam paper. But yes. He realised he'd killed someone else. That the road to revenge had killed a young man who'd done nothing to him.

Yes, he's absolutely destroyed Villefort's family- Villefort himself got off relatively lightly in retrospect. Certainly, he goes mad, but it's his wife and son are the ones who die- people who did nothing to put Dantes behind bars.

Exactly! So why did you have to single out Villefort's son in particular when the whole family was affected? Shouldn't that have been the turning point for Dantes?

Villefort's wife was still the one who poisoned her son- certainly, she was a victim but she still chose that path. Edouard was a true victim. An innocent party who was betrayed by those he trusted most just liiiiiiike?

Exactly. He sees that he has created tragedy he's faced himself, made someone else suffer that sort of betrayal. A taste of his own medicine, as it were.

Well, no. But he doesn't get the chance to. What if Dante's 'friends' had decided instead of framing him, they had him killed? It could have just of easily have happened.

But Dantes is the one with the chance to pull his life around while Edouard... does not.
