A lot of people who do make it into good colleges end up going nowhere with their life. [ HOW IS THAT SUPPOSED TO CHEER HIM UP, ANGE... ] It's all just about luck and connections nowadays.

But then, if it's really like that, then wouldn't that mean nothing matters at all? Why bother trying at anything?

You know, to imply that there is indeed no point in trying. Exactly the kind of thoughts she should pass on to other students, right.
