By day, Mr. Ed Bowlshoe is a college librarian. He sits behind a desk watching students wander back and forth- putting books in the wrong place or sitting at a desk to frantically cramp before their final because they were too busy getting drunk to study. It's a dull existence. But today, he is not that boring human. Oh no.
Ed is a big fan of The Togetherness Equines. It's a (little girl's) show about animated horses learning special lessons and becoming stronger friends in the process. There's catchy music, colourful characters, and an occasionally well-written story. It's a nice show to shut your brain off to watch.
Unless you're a super-fan like Ed. He sees it as more than that. He looks into every nook and cranny of this show, looking for the hidden meanings- the little things the creators clearly put in for the adult male audience of the show. Because they do, you know. They absolutely do. They know who the real fans are. Ed has got many theory videos on just such this subject. He's somewhat Horse Famous.
For the con, he is no longer Ed Bowlshoe. He is Sunburst!. Admittedly, he is a side-character, one brought in originally as a plot device to push ahead the storyline of the reformed villain horse - but he became a great character in his own right. He has a small part of the fandom devoted to him and Ed is proud to head it all.
He can be found wandering around the con- buying merch and getting into arguments over what's actually better - Togetherness Equines or the spin-off show Horseland Preteens. Obviously, it's the former. Ed is something of a purist. He even has his own little stand set up for one day- selling the Togetherness Equines merch that he's made- mostly pin badges and bound copies of his fanfics. He'll even pose for a picture. Everyone wants to show they've met a YouTuber.
It's only when people start dying that he starts to get... well, concerned isn't really the right word. He'll turn to the next person, folding his...arm-hooves.
"Wow. Who the heck would do this in a con? Don't they know people spend a lot of money coming to these things? It's so inconsiderate."
