[Georgia Mason is a journalist. She's got a nose for news and the tenacity and skill to track down real stories and capture the truth. She's going to be big, she's sure. It's just a matter of time and opportunity.
So it kind of stings that she and her brother have been put on the comic con circuit.
Still, she's not about to let the subpar assignment stop her from doing her best. She's here to talk to actors and cosplayers and just plain fans and take pictures and get whatever passes for a story around here. We all get to know about the next wave of Marvel movies, wow, yay.
Stand still for long enough, and you risk a microphone being shoved in your face.]
Mind if I ask you a few questions?
Costume Confusion
[Georgia has sensitive eyes. She has since she was a child, so if she doesn't want a debilitating migraine, she has to wear sunglasses. Normally this makes people a little uncomfortable, but it isn't a big deal.
Normally, she isn't in a place where everyone's first assumption is "costume." Paired with her usual black gear and the earpiece she keeps in to stay in touch with her brother, she looks like she could be in a costume. At first it's mildly amusing. It slides to annoying pretty damn fast. She whirls around and scowls at the latest offender here to try and take a picture with her.]
For the last fucking time, I am not a Man in Black. I'm press! And I don't mean a character named press, I mean actual, here to write things down, press.
[She holds up her press pass and waves it aggressively.]
Murder Mystery
[Georgia should not be happy someone was murdered, and she isn't. But she is excited to have a real story to chase. This is a story worthy of her talent, one that can make an actual difference to those who find it. She leaves the con news to the nerds who actually care and starts snooping around, ducking under police tape and generally exploring places she's definitely not supposed to be.
She's press. It's her job. She won't apologize for it. If she catches the murderer and breaks the story before anyone else, it'll be worth it. Her big break. At comic con of all places. Stranger things have happened.]
