Seconds later she wished that she hadn’t thought of that, because she was sure that was what she was going to assume was the case from this point on. Aargh.
“Yeah I’m…sure you do.” Maybe he just didn’t really that much about what was back home. Sure, he could have been telling the truth, but she didn’t know him that well, so who’s to say? Feeling just a bit more suspicious of the boy, she took a small, subtle step away from him.
