Well, that's certainly a better reaction than he was expecting, hell, it's even better than he was hoping for in the first place. The kiss is-- it's-- he can't even let himself think about the kiss because that would retract from the act of kissing her and that's just not something he's willing to do. He even forsakes breathing for so long that when he finally does pull away, he's sort of embarrassingly breathless and very unwilling to pull away at all.
