[CLOSED] If I thought you could find a way...

Who: Aramis ([personal profile] not_apriest) and Lord Buckingham ([personal profile] airshipswank)
Where: The caves
When: 06/25, during Toph's arrival
Rating: giving them the PG-13 benefit of doubt so far
Summary: Aramis explores the caves. Buckingham explores the caves. Toph explodes the caves (or at least does very little to preserve their structural integrity). Entrapment ensues! It's the Locked In A Room episode - Musketeer edition!
The Story:
Ascalon's steps were nearly sluggish as they approached the mansion. Their daily ride had gone on longer than the horse was used to, because his master was suffering from one of his moods again. The duke had them more often these days (not that the horse could tell), those mornings when he would recall with hideous certainty that there was a limit to how far he could travel here. That there was no boat to take, no foreign shore to reach and no road to follow to the nearest town. That in the end he was trapped, no matter how spacious the cage.

That day it was only the smallest of reliefs from his monotony, but Buckingham thought to approach his private stable from the other side of the mansion. He rarely walked or rode by that particular corner, and so he rarely gave thought to the mansion entrance that was now catching his eye so enticingly. He motioned for his steed to turn, and rode up to the tunnel as close as he could, before the ceiling would no longer permit the height of horse and rider both.

So Buckingham dismounted, and once he had fastened Ascalon securely to a pillar of stone he looked ahead and took the first of many steps into darkness.
