Martha's generally on top of things. She isn't much of a procrastinator, and she works hard. So the very idea of not doing something when she had been expected to is a situation she's not all that used to. Which is why it's more or less a godsend when someone else speaks up, giving her the perfect excuse.

When Evelyn walks over, Martha sends her a grateful smile. Much better at improvisation than she is, it seems, though it's a little more difficult when you're put on the spot. Martha turns back to the man and nods. "So sorry. I can try to email to you as well, if you'd like."

The man frowns and shakes his head. "Hate trying to read that tiny font on the computer screen. Get it to me this afternoon," he says sternly.

When he turns away, someone else runs up to the pair with a folder in hand. From his youthful face and enthusiastic attitude, Martha's guess is that he's a bit younger and new in the ranks. "We have a new case you two can focus on for now!" he tells them. "I've got all the details right here."

Martha smiles and takes the folder from him, waiting for him to skitter off before turning to Evelyn. "So, this is... something, isn't it?"
