Kid stops a few feet away, not really wary but cautious. The true doubt doesn't come until he hears that reply. Dean's never exactly beenchatty, but there's a difference between quiet and trying to give someone the brush off. It's an art Kid himself has cultivated, so he can tell.
Add to the fact that Dean looks like he's been to Hell and back (again) and it adds up to some pretty loud alarm bells going off in Kid's head.

Tween that an' th' cracks an' th' monster I jus' saw..." He shakes his head and narrows his eyes at Dean. "Kin ya jus' tell me 'f yer Dean's Mirror?
