[ After changing out of the hideous alpha holiday sweater that he was wearing at Scott's insistence-- despite the fact that Christmas was six days ago and he doesn't need to wear it again for an entire year-- and grabbing something else on the way out, Derek heads for the beach along behind everyone else. He's not in any real hurry, despite the fact that he's incredibly wary about the entire thing. (Hence the reason why that "something else" just so happens to be a fire extinguisher, because they can at least have something in the event that Scott and Stiles set everything on fire.)
But he's still out there, hardly bothered by the cold as he stands with his hands in his jacket pockets, surveying everything with relative-- if quiet-- interest. The past couple days have been a lot better than the week of Christmas.
Hopefully that continues for the new year celebrations, too. ]
