[OPEN] tell me what's the plan;

Who: Angel & you!
Where: The library, the kitchen, and the garden.
When: January 6th, throughout the day.
Rating: PG by default, will update if necessary.
Summary: In the wake of Ewaymas, Angel has set out to learn a little more about Wonderland - if he can. Also, awkward snacktime.
The Story:
[A, Morning:]

If nothing else, the weeks surrounding Christmas had proven to Angel that simply looking for a way out of Wonderland wasn't enough. They needed to be preparing -- each and every one of them -- for the possibility that they might not be able to escape, that they might be stuck here and forced to fight back against a beast that sounded worse than any demon he'd ever had the chance to come up against. While that was admittedly a pretty tall order, he'd heard enough from both the time-travelers themselves and the rumors that flew following their arrival to convince him that drawing himself away from the other residents was not the way for him to spend his time here.

There was a fight on the horizon. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next month, but soon. He needed to be in it, and that meant finding out as much about Wonderland as possible.

Of course, the library itself was proving incredibly unhelpful, considering its stubborn lack of any literature about Wonderland as a whole. That meant the next step was hands-on -- questioning people, investigating things for himself. He had searched the mansion thoroughly upon arrival back at the beginning of October, but that had been with an eye towards finding a way out. Now, he wanted to know how to defend this place -- how to exploit it, if he could.

His detective skills were rusty, but there was no time like the presence to get back into the business.

[B, Afternoon:]

Afternoon found Angel visiting the kitchen, having purposely waited for a time when the traffic there would be low to take care of his business. The closets upstairs seemed willing to give residents just about everything they wanted, but now and then, things went just a tiny bit wrong, and when it came to his diet, he couldn't afford to give the mansion a chance to accidentally alter the specifics. Besides, blood that came out of the closets tended to be tepid. Talk about unappetizing.

Anyone who ventures into the kitchen might catch a glimpse of him anxiously watching the microwave with his hands braced against the corner and his back turned to the entrance, or else sitting at one of the counters with an almost obscene stack of six or seven chocolate chip cookies and a glass of what looks like cranberry juice.

[C, Evening:]

It wasn't until just after sunset that he made his way outside. Much of his time in Wonderland had been spent inside the mansion, unable to explore the grounds as long as the sun was up. Since his arrival, it had been one event after another keeping him occupied, drawing his attention elsewhere, but after hours spent in the library and investigating corners of the house he had previous left untouched, an hour or so out in the gardens seemed to be in order.

It was quiet. A good place to sit and think for awhile, if he wanted to -- much like he used to do in the courtyard at the Hyperion, when the hotel had still been theirs. Once they'd made the move to Wolfram & Hart, there hadn't been much reason to go back, but he'd held onto the property, just in case. He had never really been ready to let it go and commit to corporate life one-hundred percent.

Seating himself on one of the stone benches, he leaned forward with his hands clasped, elbows resting against his knees as he looked out into the darkness. Somewhere in the garden, he thought he smelled jasmine, though maybe that was just the part of him that missed home. The garden there had lost some of its charm after a certain would-be deity had visited it and named herself after what grew there, but he wasn't going to let her ruin the memory of it for him. There had been far more good moments there than bad.

((OOC: If you would rather your character run into Angel somewhere other than the specified places, feel free - he'll be lurking around the premises throughout the day and can be approached just about anywhere.))
