[ Bold is just the way Abigail does things, Dean. Better get used to it. Still, that boldness is matched with a perhaps overdeveloped sense of danger from others - particularly, older men. When Dean steps closer to her, Abigail hesitates, nearly taking a step back but holding her ground for now. She just has to hope that if he goes for a knife, she'll be faster than him. It seems a reasonable expectation, in the logic of her mind. Having her throat cut once was more than enough.

She can see what he's doing, with the easygoing tone and the appeal to her sense of sympathy. Social codes dictate that she be understanding, that she at least give him a chance. It might work, on someone who wanted to avoid confrontation or the possibility of stepping on someone's toes. Abigail is not one of those people. Her expression of cold dislike doesn't falter for an instant. ]

Had to pick up an unidentified 'something'- [ Sarcasm drips from the word ] -so urgently that it was worth coming back with a lock-pick, but not worth interrupting Hannibal's session to ask him to let you in for thirty seconds?

[ Abigail shakes her head, a small smile twisting the corners of her lips, but it's a smile at Dean's expense, now. ]

You realize I'm going to go and ask him if what you are saying is true, and it's going to fall apart in an instant? [ This is dangerous territory - she doesn't want to lead him along a line of reasoning that will make him want to stop her with violence, but she does want to get the truth out of him. Making him see how paper-thin his lie is to her might get that done. ]

Tell me what you were doing here, really, and maybe I'll keep it a secret.

[ It's a lie; Abigail is almost certain that she will tell Hannibal, one way or another. But she still wants to know just what Dean was planning ]
