[Open] You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name

Who: Hazel Levesque & Anybody who comes across her!
Where: Horse Stables
When: end of June
Rating: G, most likely, knowing Hazel
Summary: In her explorations of this strange, new world, Hazel comes across Wonderland's horse stables...and makes a friend

The Story:

It was on her second week in Wonderland that Hazel found the horse stables.

In hindsight, she would wonder what took her so long.

But right then, all she could think about was the excitement at being able to interact with her favorite animal.  The only animal that wasn't terrified at the mere sight of her.  A daughter of Pluto.  Most animals could smell the Death on her.  The corruption of riches that cursed her very being.  Nico was the same way, although if she remembered correctly, he didn't fair quite as well as she did with stallions.

Her one regret as she entered the open door was that she hadn't thought to bring sugar cubes with her.  A peace offering.  Most of the horses, as she'd hoped they would, paid her little heed.  A few lifted their heads up and over the stall door.  Others were just outside, grazing.  She could see them from the back open window.  The smell of grain and...other less than pleasant smells...permeated the air, as she idly strolled down the first row.

He was in the very last stall.  An absolutely beautiful Irish Draught Stallion, coat shimmering even in the dim natural light.  She felt drawn to him almost immediately.  He reminded her of Arion, although she had a hunch this one wasn't an immortal son of Ceres and Neptune...

...then again...

"You're not some immortal being, are you?"

Some first impression, but she asked the question with a faint smile and even gently stroked the stallion's nose when he trotted over to greet her.  As expected, his fur was incredibly soft.  Well-groomed.

"I wonder who takes care of you all."
