Home is where the heart is
Who: Darcy Lewis and YOU!!!
Where: ALLLLL over - see below
When: 6/30 all day into the evening
Rating: PG-13 to be safe for language - will up it if needed
Summary: Darcy's back from being sent home and is dealing with it... to a point.
The Story:
A:
[She's back in Wonderland, much to her dismay, the last thing she remembers is eating cereal with Jane, Erik, and Ian after the whole almost dying and plunging the universe into darkness thing. She moves to one of the chairs, letting out an angry sigh as she flops into it. There's a small yelp as quickly shoots back up, realizing her communicator had been somehow slipped into her back pocket. She gives out another sound, mumbling something that sounds like a long string of swears if listening closely enough as she sees the full inbox.
There's an increasing number of sounds as she continues to listen, momentarily considering just throwing the stupid thing in the ocean or whatever it was. Instead, she clears out the inbox, firing off a few quick texts.]
[text to Tony]
Got your message. I'm back - somehow ended up back home. Hope you guys didn't have to go through too much trouble with Jane's freak out.
Please tell me she didn't actually call for search teams...
Also, as an apology I will make you those brownies we talked about. I'll be in the kitchen later tonight.
[text to Jane]
Got all of your messages. I guess not all of the things in Wonderland are bottomless pits because you definitely filled up my voicemail. I'm back - ended up getting sent home somehow. I will be in my room soon if you want to meet there - I can explain more.
[mass text to other Avengers and people from her world]
I'm back - was sent home for a little bit apparently. Sorry if Jane caused as much of a fuss as I think she did.
[She spends a few more moments in the chair, gathering her thoughts before starting to make her way up to the 7th floor to make sure nothing had changed in her absence.]
B:
[She's in her room, the familiarity slightly comforting if not only adding on to the annoyance of being back. While she's glad it stayed the same, it wasn't really something she was about to jump for joy about.
She settles in, communicator at her side, waiting to hear from people. She grabs a Jane Austen book, trying to read but continually getting distracted by thoughts of home.
Eventually giving up, she turns on some music, moving back to the door to peek out and see if anyone was out there.]
C:
[After agreeing to give Jane a much needed reprieve from animal duty, she makes her way around the mansion with 2 ridiculously awesome puppies that she's still not 100% sure about and the two piglets. She has all four in harnesses and leashes, although that doesn't stop them from slipping away every now and then.
They all eventually settle in the music room, Darcy playing random chords as the puppies sing along rather loudly.]
D: [For Tony, but can definitely be open to others.]
[Puppies and piglets in tow, she makes her way back down to the kitchen to do some much needed baking. She first gets the animals settled with some water and food before turning her attention to gathering the supplies for the whiskey brownies she'd promised Tony. Turning on some music, she lets herself fall into the familiar motions of baking.
It was a welcome distraction, not thinking about Thor, Ian, Erik, or her family - just focusing on the task at hand. It's easier said than done, something she'd been struggling with all day. It had been easier being here the first time, so caught up in what was happening she didn't really have a chance to get homesick, but the dangling tease of her actual life had left her wanting to go back. She missed her friends and family, missed Thor.
Pushing it aside, she goes back to what she was doing, realizing she'd been attempting to stir air in an empty bowl.]
E: [For Will Graham, open to anyone who sees her.]
[After making the brownies, she notices she has an extra bottle of Whiskey, deciding to wrap a bow around the neck and drop it off in front of Will's door on the first floor. She makes a point to include a little bag of the brownies she'd made with another note of the alcohol content in them before making her way back up to the 7th floor.]
[ooc: feel free to have gotten a misfired text from her or run into at any point along her journey - just name the place!]

He dashes up the stairs two at a time, heading for her room – that had been easy to find. When she opens the door, he flings himself at her and wraps her in a hug. ]
You’re back! Are you okay? What happened? Jane was upset and Tony had all of us looking everywhere for you.

The note has a woman's handwriting. He's... fairly certain it's not Evelyn. Brownies are too. Hm. Traditional. Alcoholic brownies, though...
Well there's one person he's talked to about copious amounts of alcohol and after he's poured a glass he opens his device. ]
Hi. Glad to see you're back in the land of the living. Or, kidnapped. [ Not glad because she's kidnapped obviously, but glad that Jane Foster can stop her impression of a whirling dervish and relax. His glass gets waved around in front of the screen, dark liquid sloshing. ] I assume you're who I have to thank for the gifts?

It's all very simple, until the door opens just as Pepper raises her hand. She jerks back in surprise, but quickly relaxes with a smile as she sees the person in question.]
Hey. Welcome back.

He recognizes her immediately, and greets her with a smile. He'd gotten her message, and had thought of going to look for her, if anything only to say hi, but turns out he ended up running into her before actually doing any looking around. ]
Darcy. It's good to see... [ That you're back? No, he's pretty sure that given the choice, she'd have stayed back home. ] That you're alright. Jane got us all a little worried for a while there.

If you're building an army, might I recommend something with a bit more... ferocity? Canines and swine are on the lower echelon where intimidating warriors are concerned. [It was purely small talk. Playful small talk. What he had to say next, however, was not.]
When next I am wrongly accused of--and threatened--on a matter with which I had no participation, I will live up to the crime on principal. Is that very clear? You will want to pass that little piece of information along to Jane Foster.
[But look, he actually didn't try to kill her.]

D. Obviously.
Not a bad idea in a place like Wonderland, when it seems like every other week is going to be something that's going to either drown them in fuzzballs or try to kill them.
But when he finally gets around to checking it, he makes his way out of the lab and in search of the kitchen, coming upon Darcy stirring the air in the bowl.
"See, I knew there had to be a catch to this whole thing. I feel like Robin Williams with the Lost Boys. Can you feel my disappointment?"
Of course.
