Having Steve play nursemaid had been amusing for a while, but eventually he got tired of it. Not that he didn't appreciate the concern from his friend, but that much hovering was too much for Sam. He used to lean on Riley. Then he leaned on the support group. Now he's gotta learn to lean on someone other than himself and it's still a very strange transition for him. As great as it was exposing Steve to important cinematic history the checking up on him got a little smothering. Especially since he was living next door to the same guy that kicked him off the helicarrier to begin with. It was a weird situation all around.
He doesn't really expect company out there. He looks a little surprised when he hears Steve's approach. He doesn't sprint past him and that makes Sam smile. "What? Don't feel like sprinting ahead of me six more times?" He chuckles and shakes his head. "Better. Doesn't hurt when I run so I figure that's an improvement for my ankle. Figure I'm good enough to run."
