When: through the event. they didn't swap sides until the 20th, though.

Summary: after a few days Rachel goaded Machel into switching sides with her so she could check out the mirror side, basically. good ideas all around. also cut text lyrics are really hard for me ok.
The Story:
( REAL )

[ if it was up to Rachel, she would have swapped over to the mirror side as soon as possible. however, it wasn't, and while she spent a few days just waiting for the switch, eventually she got antsy. she wrote on her bedroom mirror, waited until she got a response. wrote as succinctly as possible about the prophecy and what it meant to her, and how she wanted to see what it was like on the mirror side. she left out the part about seeing if anything over there gave her any clues, just to be safe, but it didn't seem to matter anyway. she reacheed out to her mirror and it worked, it actually worked.

however, she did not anticipate how uneasy the place would make her feel. and not just the normal "ruh roh, Shaggy" unease that most people have when they're shoved into an unfamiliar place, it was amplified with her usual hypersensitivity to weird vibes of a location, and the people around her. so. she's going to seem a little on edge until she finds one of her friends, and even then she still might be a bit jumpy. but on a mission! yes! gonna investigate the heck out of this mirror side! ]

[ meanwhile, Machel wanted n o t h i n g to do with the hunt for the sword. she's not built for quests, she's not even built for having visions of quests, so it all reads as Bad News to her. riiiight up until her Real actually contacts her, tells her about a prophecy she doesn't understand, about rare opportunities and the need to act, but agrees to switch sides because she really is that desperate to know what it's like to not be a mirror. not that switching sides really changes anything, but she's convinced herself it could. the possibility is there.

so she's quiet while she's over on the real side, but she's trying to fit in. sort of. she's brought Mico over with her because she couldn't just go without him, that would be crazy, so. they're trying to blend, together. for the most part. sort of. hey, maybe you could catch her alone. though it's very possible Mico would be watching from nearby. but! she likes to think she can handle herself pretty okay on her own! spoiler: she can't so she'll be wandering off wherever she pleases. snooping in her Real's room, and just. wandering. ]
