[Closed] Do you understand that we will

Who: Scott McCall [[personal profile] notmymccalling] and Natasha Romanoff [[personal profile] widows_kiss]
Where: Gardens
When: 10/4 mid day/evening.
Rating: Teen
Summary: Sometimes even superhero spies need puppy cuddles.
The Story:
The day was bleak and Scott wasn't exactly feeling very responsible at the moment. He'd catch her scent and memories would overwhelm him. He'd see her across the hall and his heart would clench. He needed a breath of air and rain or no rain, he didn't care. Lydia said he needed to get out more, well, she never specified that it had to be in good weather. The rain washed away overwhelming scents and helped drown out his hearing and visibility. All around, it made him feel more human. As if all those extra senses didn't exist.

It was cool on his skin and helped ground him to reality. And reality happened to find him in the gardens before long, just listening to the soothing, constant patter of the rain against everything. If he focused, he could pin point different surfaces just by sound. Each had a different sound depending on what it was made of, from the roof to the ground and everything in between. Leaves and plants, trees, and skin--. Scott's eyes opened as he turned his head in the direction of that sound. He wasn't the only one out in the rain today, but he couldn't find--

And then he looks up. And in the tree to his right a spider is perched. Looking up at her, he keeps getting hit in the eyes despite his attempts to shield them from the rain. So, he takes a running jump, pulling himself up to a branch close to hers. Not close enough to get his ass stung if he startled her, but close enough. "You know it's raining, right?" The humour is light, but something about her, be it her expression or the chemosignals he was picking up, kept the humour from being too lively.

"I did notice, yes."

Her tone is wry when he joins her in the tree, her gaze fond as she eyes him. She'd been watching him for a while now, his movements catching her eye in the otherwise still surroundings, left empty and quiet except for the rain. It was soothing and relaxing for her. She'd always loved the rain, loved how it smelled and felt and sounded. How it could close out the whole world if you let it.

She'd been out walking in it and her hair was still dripping, pushed back off her face from where she perches on a branch, just watching for a while. She hadn't been ready to go back inside, to where people were, but she didn't mind his presence here, joining her in the tree at the edge of the orchard.

"I could point out the same to you, you know. At least I have shelter. Sort of."
