[Open] Saying goodbye
Who: Alphonse and anyone
Where: Basement, Greed's former room
When: Monday afternoon-ish
Rating: PG most likely
Summary: Greed's gone, and Al never handled loss very well.
The Story:
Al hadn't suspected anything was wrong at first. While Greed was certainly nosy, he wasn't always hanging around, so a few days without him showing up wasn't much of an issue. But then the event rolled around, and while Al was certainly distracted by trying very, very hard to NOT burst into song against his will, he did notice that there still wasn't a single peep from Greed. And once the event had passed, it was enough that Al ventured down to the basement, hoping that nothing had happened to Greed to make him inclined to hermit up.
Why it was always darker down here, he'd never quite figured out, but it made Al feel even more uneasy, despite his best efforts to squash the feeling. Surely Greed and Ling were fine, they'd just become distracted by some business or other, was all! So Al knocked on their door, and waited...but after a minute there was still no answer. Frowning, he opened the door and started to call for them--
Only to find the room empty, bare of the clutter and odd meshing of decoration styles he'd expected to see. It hit him like a punch to the gut, even as he struggled to comprehend this. It wasn't...this couldn't happen. Greed wouldn't just disappear like this, he wouldn't have let it happen! He'd have fought to try and say something, right? But Al knew better, really. Wonderland had the final say here, and nothing any of them did could change that.
He slowly slid to the floor, curling up in the open doorway and weeping bitterly. It wasn't fair, it wasn't! Why did he have to keep losing his family like this?
It isn't until much later that Al finally manages to pull out his communicator and type in an open message:
For anyone who knew them, Greed and Ling have gone home. It doesn't look like they left anything behind.
Certainly nothing they'd meant to, at least.
((Feel free to come across Al in the basement or reply to the network message!))
