[Abigail braced her free hand against the couch while she leaned over him, not quite allowing full body contact just yet. But she does take his parted lips as an invitation to press that little bit harder into the kiss, making a soft sound.

The hand on his cheek moved to cup the back of his head gently and she has to remember how to breathe; his fingers along her arm made her skin goosebump. Why had she denied herself this for so long?

Perhaps that's what fear did to a person. It made them shut down and block everything out.]
