Summary: Romancing rodents and reliving high school politics.
The Story:
Thanks to being a wealthy trust-fund brat and having no career of her own, Rachel Michaels' life is often considered to be one of leisure, though she's taken it upon herself to manage the family's finances as well as keep their household running and in working order. Every morning starts out about the same, with her checking in on the housekeeping staff before marching her way up to her brother's room to throw his curtains open and demand that he pull himself out of bed before noon, preferably to go out and find himself a job or contribute to society in some way. Most mornings, she's met with disappointment, but she still holds out hope.
Afternoons are slightly less routine, though she regularly meets with friends from high school for lunch, intent on catching up on the latest theater gossip from Regan or subtly poking her nose into Caroline White's marriage, perhaps with some ulterior motive. With or without company, she can be bumped into at the local coffee shop or out running errands in town throughout the day, or found at the mansion anywhere in between.
In the evenings, she'll be at The Rabbit Hole. All things considered, it's probably a few steps below her usual tastes, but there aren't many choices when it comes to drinking establishments in Storybrooke, and she considers it to still be a notch above The Fish Hook. Though she's not a heavy drinker herself, there's always something very telling about a pretty girl sitting on her own at the bar -- she's waiting for someone, though who that someone is, she can't say. For all of the successful matches she's made among friends over the years, she's never been able to find someone for herself, or at least never had a relationship a man of any length that didn't end in disaster. A few ex-boyfriends may have even disappeared without explanation after she'd been seeing them a short while, leaving her with something of a reputation. Still, reputation aside, she has to hope that one of these days she'll get lucky.
Once people's memories return, Rebekah won't have much reason to leave the 'Michaels' family home. Unlike many others, there's no doubt in her mind as to which memories are real, though to some degree she finds herself disappointed. She'd been given the opportunity to be human for a short amount of time without even realizing, utterly unable to use it to the best of her ability and enjoy it for all that it's worth.
In retrospect, spending any number of years living as a human in this place seems dull and somewhat exhausting, but she'd like to think that's merely the dysphoria talking. The life she'd had here, supposedly, wasn't all that different from what she's said she's always wanted for herself -- though it had been distinctly lacking in companionship, and that troubles her. In addition, there's no telling if their being here is permanent. How long will she have to suffer the effects of actions taken by her other self?
For anyone who would like to speak to her once memories have returned, she can be found at the mansion, though she may wander out and peruse the town with fresh eyes on the 28th.
