[He freezes against her lips for a second as if somewhere he has completely forgotten what one does in this situation before it hits them that in all his hazy memories, he has no idea how this is supposed to go. The awkward moment of shock- easily brushed off as surprise and possible concern that if this goes too far, they might get caught in a compromising position, but that risk only makes the idea more thrilling and somehow gives him the incentive to return the kiss.
