We're just ordinary people
Who: Cami O'Connell and Matt Donovan
Where: The bar
When: Dec 4
Rating: PG/PG-13?
Summary: Two humans walk into a bar...which might as well be how the joke goes, given the world they come from.
The Story:
One sazerac with honey in hand, Cami settles down at the bar to unwind after a day of--well. Nothing productive. Lately most of her time has been spent wandering the mansion, trying to get a feel for the place, not to mention looking out for missing Mikaelsons. She's being careful about it; Cami only has a limited desire to get involved with the crazy, thanks. At the same time though, she knows its tearing Klaus up inside, and that's reason enough for her to want to do something. Her inaction already had far too high a price back home, and Cami doesn't want to repeat the same mistakes.
So it's a balance: explore for a bit, see what she can discover, then bemoan her lack of any sort of accomplishment in the bar with the comfort of a good drink. All the excitement of her first days here seems to have utterly vanished, leaving Cami with too much free time on her hands anyway. The routine, as loosely as the term applies, at least offers some sense of stability in an otherwise utterly crazy world.
And maybe if she keeps telling herself that, Cami might start thinking of the whole process as a little less sad than it actually as. For now, the best she can do is follow her own advice, and enjoy the free alcohol that comes at the end of her day.
